Works with Ooma Telo

I wanted a corded 2-line phone with Caller ID for my home office. I have home phone service through my cable company and an Ooma Telo for my business. I tested two other 2-line phones, the Panasonic KX-TS3282 and the AT&T 993. The AT&T phone was unusable because of a loud hum when both line jacks were plugged in. The Panasonic worked fine, however, I had purchased it used without an AC adapter and the generic AC adapter I ordered fried the phone. The Panasonic still works with batteries, but neither the features nor the LCD screen work without the AC adapter. The Panasonic seemed to have slightly less noise on the line than the Cortelco, but in both cases it is not noticeable during conversations.Here's what I like about the Cortelco ITT-9225:1) There is a large message waiting light at the top of the phone which works with both the cable company voice mail and the Ooma Telo voice mail. You can reprogram the "Message" button, which I did so I can access my home phone voice mail. Light goes off after checking either system's messages, even from the Ooma Telo unit. Additionally, there is a "clear msg" button that turns off the message waiting light. Unfortunately, there is no indication of which line has the voice mail.2) If someone is on another extension, regardless of the make or model of phone, the Cortelco indicates the line is in use. The AT&T phone couldn't do that, and the Panasonic only detects line-in-use if the other phone is a Panasonic as well (not sure if it has to be the same model).3) Mute button does not beep when pressed. There is no button light, but the display reads "MUTE". Both AT&T and Panasonic beeped when pressing mute.4) The End Call button. There is a call waiting off button, but that just dials *70.5) The Desk mount sits the phone up pretty high so it is easy to read the LCD even without the backlight.6) There IS automatic line selection when a call comes in, even though each line is plugged into a separate jack (Normally defaults to Line 1).Other things: each line has its own distinctive ring but they can't be changed. The handset has an 8-level volume control but the ringers have old-school HI-LO-OFF switches. There is no dedicated fax/data port, you would have to use Line 2. Hold, Line 1, Line 2 and Speaker are the only buttons that have light indicators. I have not used the speakerphone or conference functions.Things I don't like: 1) Slightly more line noise than the Panasonic. 2) The battery compartment is poorly designed; it's too small to seat the batteries properly. On battery power, only Line 1 works. (3 2A batteries are not required, but the display shows a blinking battery icon if they're not installed)Overall, I'm pretty happy with the Cortelco, although I've only had it for a couple of weeks. I'm concerned about longevity, but it doesn't seem like any of the 2-line phones in this price range are that impressive.

Great Phone!

This is a great phone. I ended up buying a second one for an employee I don't even have yet!Everything in the other reviews are very true. What I really like about this phone is that it's raised higher then other 2-line phones. I researched everywhere online and in stores and I could not find a 2-line phone that equals this one for the price and features..FYI: There is no voicemail system. I use this for business and have the additional voicemail system through the phone company.The ONLY negative and the reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because sometimes the buttons do not push all the way. Maybe it's my first one, I intend to test this. But sometimes when I quick dial I end up having to redial a lot slower.

FANTASTIC PHONE!!!!!

This phone is fantastic- I love it. It's a great price for a corded office phone (it's difficult to find corded phones anymore!). It has every feature I was looking for and it works GREAT! This is the only phone I could find that met my needs (without spending $200.00 on a cordless phone). I work from home, and this phone is perfect- I love the 'turn off call waiting button' (which you can use while talking to someone to stop the call waiting beep). I use a headset- this phone is ideal for a headset- it was easy to setup (great manual!) and just works, no hassles. The phone has so many features, and every button is labeled so well, you are never guessing what a button means/does. It also has 2 lines, which is incredible for the price. My only comment is that on occasion, when I use the handset, people have a difficult time hearing me (I talk pretty softly though) so I would recommend always using a headset with a microphone (as I always do). I cannot recommend this phone highly enough- it exceeds my expectations by far!
