Great phone system

Having 4 phones and needing only one jack is one of the many conveniences of this phone system. Aside from the base, which needs a jack, the other 3 handsets can be put in any room that has an electrical outlet. The phone features Push-to-Talk that lets me call for my wife in whatever room she may be. The styling is very "classy" and very modern. Each hand set has a speaker function. Programming is simple and the user manual is easy to read. We replaced a very old Uniden phone, which had no connectivity to the other phones in our home. The vTech system is great.

Great phone system....but

We have chosen to stick with the VTech phones for a while now since they seem to be reliable, have great feature sets, and are typically very user friendly. This system is no different. I love all the features, the ease of use, etc. However, the ringers just aren't loud enough. On full volume we can barely hear them ring from across the room. When the voice spoken caller ID kicks in, the volume is plenty loud enough. But, too often, by the time we realize the phone is ringing the caller has already hung up or the answering machine has picked up. Either way it has proven to be a real pain (to the point that we will likely change to a different model system). Otherwise, we love the system.

new phones

I had been lookin for some expandable new cordless phones. I must say that I am very happy with this choice. They were better than I had expected. Clear sound and user friendly.
