5Reliable, Clear Sound and Good Range
By S.R.
I also purchased the base station with answering machine(which is also excellent), and have now added a third handset. Phones have great, clear sound and good range and I often use the speakerphone feature in the handset so I can talk while working on the computer or have my wife join in the conversation. Only problem I've had is locating a handset after the battery runs down. The page feature obviously is no help at that point, but that's my own fault for letting the battery run down.

5Great reception, features, range, quality
By MadPB
I originally bought 2 of these with an answering machine unit and was so impressed I added a 3rd one, replacing the last hardwired phone I had.The range of these is pretty good... I can wander around my 1/2 acre and still get great reception to the base unit. The ability to upload pictures or make your own ring tones is pretty cool. It took me a year or two to actually do that since the stock images and rings were suitable, but it's fun to try things out. Also it's nice that the batteries in the unit aren't some custom battery back...just plain old NiMH, so if they ever get to the point where they don't hold a charge, you can get spares just about anywhere they have batteries (or even some alkaline AA's in a pinch, just don't try charging it if you do that...emergency only) :)

3Neat features, poor function
By Mark Zeller
Bought this expansion unit, refurbed, after owning a brand new 2-pack with base. Overall, this phone system communicates well, from wireless base to expansion units. HOWEVER, the phone usage is a bit annoying. For instance, to delete calls from the caller ID list (CID on the phone) is easy to do, but the sound of the tone, while deleting or using the menu options of the phone, is loud and obnoxious. Nor can this tone be muted or changed. Also, a good feature is being able to enter and edit the number before dialing, like a cell phone; but the response of the keys is very poor and inconsistent. My wife often yells out loud in frustration as the keys fail to respond to her touch. Another issue is personal pictures can be put in the phone per address book entry, but no more than one phone number per entry. Moreover, the address book allows you to enter in the same exact numbers and titles multiple times, which makes the list grow to a very cumbersome amount, if you forget which entries exist in a phone and continue to add numbers. Furthermore, the phones can be used as intercoms amongst themselves, which is a great feature to avoid yelling down three flights of stairs. However, the phones do not sync info between themselves, so you must maintain as many address books as you have phones (I have three). Lastly, the batteries have held up well (NiCad recharge) but every now and again following a low battery message, I have to remove the batteries from the phone for a few minutes, re-insert them and place the phone back on a charger in order to use the phone.Overall, it is a neat features phone, but the execution of those features lack a little bit.
