5Finally the perfect bluetooth headset
By M. White
I had to finally write a review on a product (maybe i've written a few others on some really great items) to let those of you who have been painfully searching for the perfect bluetooth, like me, that you can stop your search with this one! In the past three months I've gone through the jawbone icon (nice sound/fit, but had problems with pairing after A2DP), the Jabra Extreme (very good connection & reliable, but sound was extremely muffled), Plantronics 975 (very nice aesthetically, amazing sound quality, but no A2DP) and Jabra Stone (very sexy, good sound quality, battery life HORRIBLE). I finally settled on the Jabra Extreme, just becuase it reliable, but at times it was so muffled i could barely make out what the other person was saying...I thought what I was looking for was simple... I just needed a bluetooth headset that I could use with my computer for Communicator/Live Meeting Conferences and with my phone for regular calls when not using the computer. In addition to conference meetings on my phone, A2DP allows the headset to replace the laptop speakers with normal sound quality, which is why it was a must... for watching the occasional youtube video while working :)..I think that Plantronics has the best sound quality... which is why I was sooo disappointed when the 975 did not have A2DP.The Plantronics M1100 has solved this problem... no connection issues, A2DP, great sound quality, great noise cancelling, very slim, great fit and look! Finally I've found the perfect bluetooth headset for my needs... the M1100 great features too, which was an added bonus.. the voice controls are really nice... and although, i probably wont use it, but the Vocalyst feature is very nice... it comes with a free 1 year subscription so i'll probably sign up for that just to test it out.anyway, i just wanted to share my two cents with those who've had the same struggle as me since this is a new product and not many reviews out. I could only find one or two when I was debating whether to purchase this or not two days ago.... So far I'm glad I did.oh.. one negative.. the packaging was horrible.. maybe it was just me being too excited to figure out how to open it properly, but i had to rip all of the labeling from the case just to get it open.... so much for returning it... fortunately I won't be.

5Nearly gave up on Bluetooth - now I am back!
By J-Reezy
First, I should caveat this review with the fact that I am a sale person that #1 travels a lot and #2 is on the phone nearly all day. So, if you are like me, you know that being able to hear and be heard clearly no matter where you are is important. This headset meets all my needs and then some!* Call ClarityI have asked about 20 people how I sounded while talking to them, most of which were in different environments - driving the car on the hiqhway, outside near traffic, in a crowded grocery store, even at a football game. All of the people said they could hear me clearly and it did not sound like I was in a tin can. On my end of the phone, everyone also sounded great. Just as they would as if I were using my handset alone* Ease of usePairing this headset was easier then any prior headset. All I did was turn it on and set my Blackberry to Pair and boom, I was done. It didn't even ask for a passcode. I should add to this, that I LOVE the fact that the On/Off switch is an ACTUAL SLIDING SWITCH. Just like a classic light switch you easily know if you have your device on or off. I hated past headsets (Jawbone) that forced me to hold down a button for 3 seconds or otherwise. Plus these button style headsets always seemed to turn on in my bag and my headset would be dead when I needed it.* FeaturesIt seems to have all the typical features in a couple of buttons. Easy to reach volume button and an easy to reach call/hang up button. For things like redial you have to double tap the call button and for mute you hold down the volume button - this is pretty standard for most headsets. When you have an incoming call, a please voice comes on and says "You have an incoming call you can say answer or ignore" -- pretty easyA new feature I really liked is the Voice Recognition button. With this you press it once and give an order such as Redial, Pairing, Call information, or check battery - I love the check battery function as it will tell you how much talk time you have left.Another new feature to me is Vocalyst. This headset comes with a 1 year subscription to Vocalyst which will allow you some cool functions like having texts and emails read aloud to you. For me this is irrelevant but may be a good feature to others.* Comfort / LookThis headset is also much more comfortable then any headset I have had. I like that the ear piece does not have to go in your ear, instead they use a neat gel piece to keep if cradled with the shape of your ear. When on it is small enough that you don't look entirely stupid and I really like that the flashing blue light is not so bright that everyone is looking at you. It is also very light. I have worn it for hours at a time and I completely forget it't there.* Design & DurabilityWhile lightweight it seems well constructed. I toss it in my bag and don't worry about little pieces getting broken off. It's design is simple yet slightly techy so you can feel cool wearing it :)It may be a pricier option that some headsets but very well worth it when you need something reliable. At $99 its a better price then I paid for my last Jawbone

3mute button is hard to use
By bored99
Overall this headset is easy to set up, fits comfortably in your ear, has great sound quality (talk and listen), holds charge for a long time, etc. However I work from home and have 3-9 hours of meetings every day, and multitask or type a lot while on the phone, so the ability to mute quickly and regularly is very important to me, and very annoying on this headset. It's connected to the volume button, and you have to hold it in for a full second to turn the mute on or off. This is probably fine for most people (I'm thinking of a neighbor who chats with frends for hours at time on her bluetooth), but when I'm working it's obnoxious to reach up and hold repeatedly every minute or two. (Generally I unmute when talking, and mute the rest of the time.) Incidentally, the volume button is annoying in its own right--instead of an up/down function, you push to get progressively louder, then it resets to the quietest volume. So if the volume is a little too loud, you have to cycle through progressively louder and louder volumes before it resets to the quietest level. One other nit, although I'm not sure whether it's something most headsets have in common, is that if you reach up to adjust the earpiece, the "terminate call" button is dead-center and easy to push, so I frequently terminate calls on accident. Basically it happens every time I touch the earpiece (and I'm trying to train myself out of doing that!) but I've accidentally killed the call as many as 6 times during a single meeting, which is really obnoxious (they were large group meetings where it didn't really matter, but still!). So I recommend caution and giving yourself time to get through that learning curve before using the headset on any call where that would be a problem.
