3Great phone, but where's the headphone jack?
By Big Dawg
I really like this phone, but its missing one important piece that every phone should have. For the good, sound quality from both the speakerphone and ear piece is great, the display is large and easy to read. For the bad, this is a real deal breaker for me, no headphone jack! When working from home, I can't hold the handset or leave the phone on speaker for long hours, it is critical for me to have a headphone jack.Overall, this phone is great as a phone, but my requirement of having a headphone jack (which Vtec and Panasonic always have), I have to drop my review to 3 stars.

5This is a high quality, affordable cordless phone set with DECT 6.0 technology ...
By D. Fowler
I purchased another brand of phones when a massive lightning strike took out all my phones, including many of the features of my two land lines. I was barely able to call out and accessing menus was problematic. I needed a fully functional set of phones and knew that Amazon would get them to me quickly at an affordable price. I was especially pleased to be offered these phones as an "upgrade" on the ones I purchased. Not that I wasn't happy with the ones that I got, but discovered a few little things that were even better. For example, I wanted to test the range of these phones. Inevitably every time I wanted to head outside with any of my previous phones, the conversation would be interrupted within a few feet of the house. Obviously, my ancient landline Princess wasn't going anywhere. Last night when I got a call in, I decided to check the range. I kept on walking to the barn, which is fifty feet from the base phone. I had no problems at all, save a little blip on my way back. This was a real plus for me because I like to be able to go outside and be able to receive calls.WHAT'S IN THE BOX:* Cordless handset and base* Two extra cordless handsets and chargers* Three power adapters* Three rechargeable battery packs* Telephone line cord* Wall mount bracket* A very comprehensive user's guide (English only)* A quick start guide with visuals (French, Spanish & English)The installation was seamless and done within a few minutes after taking the hardware out of the box. The phones are streamlined and very attractive. They are quite slim and not at all bulky. The date and time were already programmed ... the only thing was that they had a.m/p.m incorrectly set. As with the other set of phones I purchased, my telephone jack sets away from the wall and I would have liked the wall mount bracket raised a bit more. A non-issue for most people.SPECS:* RF frequency band 1921.536 Mhz - 1928.448 Mhz* Channels 5* Operating temperature 5 degrees centigrade to 45 degrees centigrade* Telephone base voltage (Adapter output) 6VDC, 400 mA* Handset voltage 2.4V 500mAh Ni-MH battery pack* Charger voltage (Adapter output) 6V AC, 300mA for Handset ChargerOVERVIEW:* Caller ID/Call Waiting - stores 30 calls* Handset speakerphone* DCET 6.0 Digital technology (this makes it, for the most part, interference free, high quality sound, and more protection from eavesdropping)* Call waiting (by subscription only)* 10 selectable Ringtones* Energy Star compliant* Expandable to five headsets* Backlit keypads and 2" diagonal displays (blue)* Volume control* It has the ability to make a three-party conference call* Intercom between handsets with only one phone jack* A "find" your lost handset button right in the base* Digital answering system* Speed dial* Limited warranty, one yearOne of the things I liked the best was the range. I'm not sure of the limitations, but my personal experience exceeded fifty feet. Of course there would be limitations if there are structural or geological obstructions. I checked out the price at the local box store and they are comparable, but that doesn't take into consideration the gas and time I would have spent getting them. Only times will tell if this set will hold up, but I'm quite satisfied with the performance and have set aside my other phones as a backup. I'd highly recommend these phones if you want a nice sleek, high quality cordless phone.

4What Were They Thinking???
By E. David Swan
By and large I like the Motorola DECT 6.0 cordless phone. The sound quality is fine and the speaker phone is sufficiently loud. I can also use the speakerphone while the phone sits on the cradle which seems like a given but I couldn't do it with my last phone. It's a good looking phone but there are some design decisions that baffle me. The button for dialing is labeled `Flash' and to hangup you press `Back'. Those are a bit unintuitive but that is by far not the worst thing about the phone. Right below the `Back' button is the `Menu' button. If you accidentally press `Menu' instead of `Back' when hanging up, rather than disconnect the call, the phone just goes apes**t and beeps like crazy. I find myself frantically trying to press buttons to shut the damn thing up. I had this happen once on a conference and after I got the phone to calm itself down I thought it had hung up but it hadn't. I didn't say anything to jeopardize my job but there was some humorous embarrassment when I was still being heard after I thought the call was hung up.Why does the phone go berserk when you press Menu during a call? Who designed it this way? My wife laughs and calls it user error but this is seriously a stupid design. It would be like adding a button on a gun that causes it to fire backwards and then calling it user error when an owner shoots himself in the face. I am deducting one star because of this inexplicably moronic design decision.
