5Great headset for the modern office
By John Har
I've been using this for about 3 weeks, and I love it. Sound quality is excellent (full wideband sound for computer audio), it is very easy to use and set up, it is wireless (uses DECT and bluetooth), and it works with multiple sources (deskphone, computer, mobile phone). It's also comfortable enough to wear for several hours straight. I have not encountered any of the problems reported by others (random disconnections, accidental volume change when connecting to base).I work in a large corporation with a cubicle environment, and my team members are often on the phone. Needless to say, it can get noisy enough that a regular monoaural headset (i.e. earphone covering only 1 ear) won't suffice. Hence, I selected this 9465 Duo over the 9460 (mono). The earphones are "semi-open" so they don't cover the entire ear for best noise reduction, but it's good enough. The benefit, though, is that the headset is lighter and wearable for hours.I love that I can use this for calls that come in from outside, whether on my desk phone or on my mobile (via bluetooth connection). When I'm not on the phone, I can use this same headset to listen to videos (e.g. web-based training courses) or talk on video/web conferences which use VOIP (e.g. WebEx). (Of course, you can still use the headset to connect to conferences that don't use VOIP.) You can also use it with chat programs like AIM or Microsoft Communicator that have voice chat capabilities. You just touch the LCD screen on the base to switch the source. (NOTE: you can't use this headset on the road with your mobile phone. The bluetooth connection is with the base, not with the headset itself.)And because of the wideband audio, you can get lifelike sound when used with the computer. Even regular phone calls are a bit clearer.I highly recommend this headset, especially at Amazon's great price.

4Great for calls, not so much for music
By John E.
Have to say that overall I really enjoy this headset. The duo headphones are great to help block out office noise and having a wireless headset really helps declutter the desk. The only issue I have with is the quality of the headphones for music and the fact that they're mono and not stereo. For calls, the quality is great. The other side of the call comes through clear and the noise-cancelling microphones do a great job of allowing your voice to come through clean and crisp. The moment you try listening to something other than a phone call, this headset turns into a sub-par set of headphones. They're mono (as was expected), have no bass, have a poor frequency range, and everything sounds somewhat hollow. Frankly, this is not a pair of headphones you listen to music on.Basically if you are like me and you want to listen to music when you're not on the phone, you're switching this headset to a better pair of headphones until your next call. I'm still going to keep these as I talk on the phone for a considerable amount of time on any given day, but be warned that the audio quality of this headset is lacking for anything other than a call.

5Best new office gadget in ages
By Ron
I work from home and spend a lot of time doing conference calls, webex, skype, Microsoft Lync - not to mention cell phone ringing, office phone ringing. I'm an engineer by trade working for a software company so basically a geek who loves technology. I previously had a Panasonic wireless phone on my desk and a Plantronics CT14 which worked very well. The problem with the Plantronics is I was always dropping the dialer piece while walking around doing other stuff while on calls which would in turn rip the headset off my head. Additionally, I kept another headset just for Skype and other soft-phone calls. It was a struggle.Lo and behold, I saw this baby and had to have it. It does NOT work and will not work with a cordless phone typical in the home environment, I had to buy an office phone with an RJ-9 headset connection to get it to work (the Jabra plugs into your phone using this port and enables you to push the headset button on the phone to activate the headset). But, with IP phones and others, you have to buy another wiring connector so the $45 for the Cortelco desk phone was OK and it's actually a pretty good phone. Now for using it. It was very easy to set up. I LOOOOVE being able to click the app on my PC or the touch screen to bounce between mobile/soft/deskphone (or connect them together!). The call quality, once I got everything adjusted properly was exceptional. I can walk from one end of my condo to the other with zero call degradation.I do not listen to music on these, I have music headphones for that purpose so can't qualify the sound quality while listening to some Beastie Boys but I'd expect it to be not very appealing. :)These are pricey, that's for sure but so far it's been a good solid buy that has made work like much more fun and productive.
