Does what I wanted - converted NTSC camera to IP camera

I'm not sure what the one person was talking about when he complained that the product only works with Grandstream products. I am using this with a Gadspot NTSC camera to make it an IP camera. I am using blue Iris surveillance software to capture the images from the camera through the video encoder. So it is working both with 3rd party cameras and 3rd party surveillance software.Everything works very well.I have only tested a couple days and I have noticed that sometimes the video update to the server becomes distorted or slow. I can't say whose fault that is. Whether it is a camera problem or the video encoder. But it isn't a problem for me. Not yet anyway.

Affordable, nice encoder/decoder

This unit is both an encoder and decoder and switching between the two is easy. The software for finding the IP address works on PCs only, but once you have the IP address you can configure the camera from any web browser. The web video preview works on PCs only, though. I haven't tried the Dynamic DNS option, but it works fine with a static IP address which eliminates the need for using the software to find the IP.The wires for the power supply were just a fraction of an inch too short so they wouldn't stay locked in the connector. It was straightforward to strip a bit more wire so they can lock in place.

50% Failure Rate

I ordered four this these about 5 months ago. One failed immediatly after installation, the second just failed again. We did get a replacement one for the first failure rate. But no one wants to talk about warranty on the second unit that failed.When they work they work as advertised.
