The telephones feature up to 7 hours of talk time, corded power failure operation, a handset speakerphone, and push to talk intercom. It is WiFi friendly and expandable to 5 handsets for extra convenience. It has programmable do not disturb, call transfer, call timer, and a visual ringer in the handset. This telephone also features handset naming, a real time clock, a programmable alarm and reminders, and allows you to select from 10 ring tones. GE DECT Corded/Cordless Phone with Caller Block

This phone works well for me and is pretty much "full featured".I chose it over similar units for the call blocking feature. So, I will describe this feature and mostly say: the other features work well too.You put in up to 30 offending numbers. When one of the entered numbers calls, the phone, and the hand held phone, don't ring, nor will the answering machine pick up. The caller number space says "BLOCKED CALL". It doesn't show the caller's number. Other phones on the same line, without this feature, do ring however, so you have to be sure to ignore them. Another phone, or some kind of Caller ID box can get the blocked caller's number if you are interested but it will be a number you put in to begin with.For this to work, this phone does not play the first ring of any call. That's because the Caller ID info comes only after the first ring. And, this phone can't block anybody who does not transmit a number on Caller ID, like "Private Caller", Unknown Caller" or such.The portable handset works fine, it is in range throughout my location. It has a data link to the main unit and can handle all things like telephone book, blocked caller list, etc. It has fewer buttons than the main unit so some things do work differently. You can get more than one hand unit if you would like, at first or later.The main unit screen display is good, much better than we had before. The instructions are good. But you do need to study them.One last thing. In a recent power failure I noticed that most features go off. The hand unit says "OUT OF RANGE". The main unit can make and receive calls during outages but most of the extra features will not be available.Later input: I wound up using this phone to block those callers who leave messages on the answering feature. That about uses up my 30 scam callers. Other callers I just don't pick up on. I'd like to get a phone that would block whole Area Code, or maybe something like (914)294-xxxx, a well known scammer venue.The phone has worked for a few years now. Don't buy this phone if you want a reliable system and a real warrantee

I purchased this phone system for my 78 year old Mom. Her 6 year old ATT phone/answering system was failing and she wanted a new phone that would work in power outages, have call blocking, and a cordless handset. This phone seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The problem? It did not function properly right from the beginning.- Voice mail had to be removed from my Mom's ATT services in order to use the answering machine. The answering machine would not extend beyond 3 rings, too few for my Mom to get to the phone.- In about 72 hours, odd messages came on the base unit and cordless screens, then the cordless unit failed completely, then the base unit digital system failed completely leaving only the dial tone to the base unit working. The customer service rep could not correct the problem.- The phone is unreliable. I asked for an address to return the phone for a refund. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP TOLD ME "GE DOES NOT ISSUE REFUNDS ON THIS UNIT, THEY WOULD ONLY REPLACE/EXCHANGE THE UNIT UPON MY RETURNING IT.As I have decided to purchase my Mom an old fashioned ATT corded phone and separate answering machine, not GE brand, so I just lost $49.95 and 2 day shipping costs...more than $70.00 total.As a long time GE customer I am truly disappointed in GE's new "no returns" policy and will no longer purchase their products.Don't buy this phone if you want a reliable system and a real warrantee.

GE DECT 6.0 CORDED PHONE W/corded HANDSET

I'm always looking for a better phone. Well, this one is by far the best I've ever owned! It arrived well packaged in perfect condition. The quality & styling are superb (the feature buttons have an almost "glasslike" quality). We love the large adjustable blue backlit screen (most others have a terrible orange color or no backlight at all. Also, the large script is far better than any other I've owned. The phone base sets securely on the table and feels almost "glued" down due to the special feet (won't slide all over like so many others). The large keypad is fantastic and easy to see & press without missing and hitting a wrong number; Now for the best features: The Block List & DND (do not disturb) features are a Godsend! I receive at least 5 calls a week from unwanted marketers, etc. and despite my telling them in no uncertain terms not to call, they still do! I've even put their number on the National DO NOT CALL Registry, plus filed complaints, and they "STILL CALL"! Well, that's a thing of the past now. I just enter the caller's number into the Block List, and "no more calls". I wish I could see their faces! As for the Do Not Disturb feature, this works two ways: You can press & hold down the DND button until it lights up, which then silences the ringer so if anyone calls at an inconvenient time, you don't hear it & it won't disturb you ( if you have Caller ID it will put the number in the list...this is good because it lets you know who the caller was). Also, you can program this feature too, so that if you desire the phone to be off at certain times of the day or night, it's done! The only thing is that when this feature is activated, you need to shut off the Answering Machine too (simply press the button & it's red light goes out) otherwise you "will" hear the machine answer. So when we retire at night I just press two buttons so as not to be disturbed: The DND button (glows blue) and the answering machine red button which goes off. What a great combination of features to allow you to be undisturbed! Another great feature is the PTT (push to talk) button. Using this and the handset, you actually have a walkie talkie setup. You press & hold the blue PTT button on the base and speak to whoever has the cordless handset; that person then presses the black button on the "side of the handset" and speaks back. Includes all the usual features also (phonebook, called ID, etc.). TOTALLY SATISFIED!
