Careful about compatibility

This wireless headset was sold along with the Uniden D1600 expandable phone system, but it is NOT compatible with that system. It only works with the D1700. There is no wireless headset compatible with the D1600 - a fact I did not learn until after I had paid for and installed the D1600 series.

I used this item with Uniden D1788-2T.CONS:The headset did not fit as well as I would have liked, but of course, everyone's head is different.The headband did not work for me at all, but I prefer the over the ear attachment anyway.The headset is too heavy to use without the over the ear attachment or headband.I would prefer the charging base to have been heavier so that I could lift the headset off easier.Because I didn't find it exceptionally comfortable, I would not use this if I were on calls all day.PROS:There are a variety of ear buds and ear loops to make the fit comfortable.This pairs like a traditional bluetooth cellular headset.Thankfully, it keeps its pairing well and I have not had to reconfigure it in the month I've been using the device.The sound quality is decent... slightly less than using the regular cordless.Range is impressive, I was able to leave the house and go about 30 feet away until it started to crackle.The battery life is sufficient for me. The max I've used it for is an hour. It stays on the cradle otherwise.Sound quality is great and a big jump for me where I had used a cell phone previously.It does a reasonably good job of sound cancellingFUNTIONALITY:There are 5 buttons on the headset.- The main button is the power/answer/hangup button on the side. It works well with a sufficient click to confirm it was pressed- 2 buttons on one edge control volume- 1 button on the opposite edge is the Mute/Flash button. It works well to flash over for Call Waiting... otherwise it simply mutes the microphone.- 1 button is recessed on the inner side of the headset for resetting the pairing.There is one light that will glow red when charging and blue when charged as well as relaying info during the pairing process.NOTES:It is a bit awkward that you have to use a handset to dial numbers. You will get an echo if you leave the handset on requiring the use of the mute button the handset.Frequently when I hang up the headset I forget to turn the handset off as well.Though I have a few cons this is the best item for this purpose I could locate.

Sorry I Bought This

You can't make a call using this. And, of course, blue tooth is not the best technology for clear phone calls. I just keep it docked in case someone calls me who wants to talk for a long time. It is the only head set that is compatible with my Uniden Dect 6.0 system. Just not happy with this.
