Great Phone
By Emily jean B.
I got this phone because although I love the nostalgia of an old-school rotary phone, it wasn't quite practical when trying to call- every single company on earth- that uses a touchtone based call service. SO I had to give in and buy a newfangled telephone.I chose this because it looks nice, it has an answering machine, and the buttons are big enough and easy enough for my kids to use and read. And I love a strange voice telling me who is calling so I can avoid telemarketers (who continue to call no matter how many times I put my number on the "do not call" list). It seems to work just fine. Good range (I can take it outside anywhere in my lawn), nice and loud, sounds clear.I do have a few issues with it though- the menu system can be confusing and some functions just make no sense. And the announcing voice NEVER pronounces ANYTHING correctly, even the easiest words in the English language. So it can be somewhat difficult to decipher what she is saying at all.Other than that, it's a good phone, at a good price.

Good for quick, infrequent calls; bad for regular use
By JB
I don't get reliable cell reception in my apartment so I needed a landline and landline phone. I wanted an affordable phone and didn't need multiple handsets or a bunch of bells and whistles, so I chose this one. Unfortunately it's advertised as having HD quality audio, but for me the audio is AWFUL. If I listen on the handset, even on full volume I can barely hear the speaker on the other end. If I put it on speaker phone, the volume of the audio is OK, but the audio comes in and out so I have to either guess as to what the speaker said or ask the speaker to repeat him/herself. (I'm never more than about 10-15' away from the base.)Overall the phone is OK for very short calls, like if you're using it to call a business to see what time they close or to make reservations somewhere. Could be I got a lemon, but if you have longer calls or work from home and have client calls, I recommend not purchasing this phone.

Great for the Money
By Ric
I really lost faith in most phones of this type, but this one surprised me. The instruction book is quite long but nothing impossible. The volume and clarity on message playback is very good and to my surprise, everything you can do from the base can be done from the handset including playing back messages. It has many features which I don't even use but the ability is there if you need it. I would recommend this phone to anyone.
