Good Phone, Many Features
By S. N. Gaines
If you need a phone that does not require an AC wall plug, this is probably what you need. The description does not give the features, so here goes:It has Caller ID and if you have the service, Call Waiting ID.It has a 14 number quick dial, and a 25 number stored directory dial. You can store numbers from the Caller ID right into quick dial or the directory. You can redial numbers directly from the caller ID screen with the push of one button. It has a speakerphone, with mute, and volume control for the speaker phone. It has a hold button. All of the buttons are large enough that you don't feel like you're pecking at microdots. It is easily wall or desk mounted. The LCD screen is very visible, and can be adjusted for contrast. You have a choice of English, Spanish or French for the language. You can program in area codes if you have to always dial 10 numbers to make a call (I think this is called layering or somesuch by the phone companies). All in all, a lot of quality for a very reasonable price.Audio quality seems good, and I am a little hard of hearing in one ear, but there is no problem with this phone in that regard. It does require 4 AA batteries which are not included, but to be honest the batteries that get included with items are garbage anyway so you'd want to use quality batteries. If you need a corded phone, which you should have in the event of a power failure (your cordless phones will not work without AC power but phones plugged into a regular phone wall jack will work if the wires are not down), then this is going to be the phone for you.Go ahead, spend the money, you'll get a good quality phone.

Speaker OK for listening but not talking
By J. A. Schow
It's ok if you want to listen to your voice mail or when you're on perpetual hold but you cannot carry on a conversation because the microphone doesn't work. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because you can listen which is good for something.

As advertised
By R. C. Reid
I'm not sure why this item has received bad reviews, to me, it was all that was advertised and a real bargain at the price. The set-up is fairly simple; directions are good too.If you need a corded phone that requires no AC plugin, then by all means, this phone exceeds (my) expectations. For the folks that gave this product a bad review? all I can think is they got a lemon (or they are the lemon). To me, it was a good deal, and the speaker phone feature works well too.
