We have had an old answering machine, even putting my ear directly on the voice area I was unable to hear what the message was. This one is GREAT GREAT GREAT for those of us that are hard of hearing. I would advise anyone to buy this. The boost on it is spectacular!!!

Good sound

The Boost button quickly bumps up the volume and clarity on a quiet message. My father cannot see well, but the placement and difference in the feel of the buttons makes this unit a great choice for him. Very easy to set up.

Helpful for elderly mom

My mom is 96 and hard of hearing as well as suffering with arthritis. She needed a simple, CLEAR answering machine that she could operate on her own and UNDERSTAND the messages. She has adjusted to this one and willingly goes to it. And she has learned how NOT to accidently turn it off. I call that a success, since I can always get to her.
