Excellent CID and VM Indicator Line-Powered Phone

The Cortelco 273000-TP2-27E is an excellent line-powered wired phone with CID and VM lamp indication. This is NOT your standard Big Box store phone "El Cheapo" phone. It's more of a business-type phone, but excellent for home use. If needed, Customer Service is a phone call away to Cortelco's plant in Corinth, MS, and you get a real person in the technical/engineering department who speaks real English.The LCD, although not lighted, is easy to see, and with large alpha/numerical characters. Key depressions feel like the key switches are quality-make rather than the cheap feel of many wired telephones today. If you're AC power goes out, this phone will keep working!If you want a Line-Powered wired telco phone that's rugged, easy-to-use, and with long-term durability and reliability, I highly recommend this phone. And, it can either be wall mounted or desk mounted.

It Works!

This phone is more expensive than most other phones in its class. I purchased two of them...one sits on a desk and the other is wall mounted. The mount works well for both scenarios. I awarded this phone 3 stars because it does the job and is well-built. The audio quality is very good, but the phone strikes me as overpriced. Like most non-backlighted LCD displays, it is very difficult to read in dim light. I haven't tried the headset feature, but all other features work as intended. One annoying aspect of this phone is the red "new call/line in use" light. It stays on for 20 seconds after ending a call. During this time it is impossible to get a dial tone. And sometimes. the light will briefly come on for no reason. All in all, pricey, but reliable.
