Almost There - But Not Enough
By Finance Guru
We are a professional office. Our 14 year old NEC phone system died, and there were no "body parts" for a transplant rescue to be found. We were pleased to see these phones with their promise of easy installation at a very reasonable price. The Good: The phones work well. The set-up was smooth; taking about three hours from start to finish. This included setting up voice mail accounts and the auto-attendant. Technical support was great. The not so good: Speakers are a little tinny. Customers can't always hear us on hands free and we haven't been able to resolve this easily. General features could be more intuitive and if you don't have extensions that start with a 3 you will now as 1 and 2 are not allowed as the first number in an extension. What sent us LOOKING TO REPLACE in just over 30 days?We do not have a receptionist and auto-attendant features are very important to us. If a customer calls and the person they want to talk with is not available, this system will not allow them to choose another extension. Their only option is to leave a voice message or hang up and try again. An example of why this missing feature makes this system untenable for us:A customer needing a quick question answered (or having what they feel is an emergency) calls our general number. When the auto-attendant answers, they select the extension for the person they normally deal with. They learn that the person is on vacation and there is no point in leaving a message. They press zero and get nothing. They try another extension and get nothing. Their only choice is to hang up, dial again and hope they will be successful in talking with a live person the next time. We are getting multiple "voice messages" consisting of touch tone beeps from customer attempts to transfer to another extension. Our customers are complaining. Their expectations are reasonable. They should be able to talk to a live person at any time. Our 14 year old NEC system easily handled this task. I assumed it was a basic auto-attendant feature, not only because of our previous system, but because any auto answered system I call can handle this. Technical support confirmed this feature is not programmed into any of their phone systems and there are no plans to patch or fix it. They were polite and looked for a work around in vain. They had a difficult time understanding why we would want this feature and suggested that I have calls forwarded to a cell phone. But if I can't answer my desk phone I can't answer my cell phone. If I am away on vacation, I don't want to answer business calls and the customer should easily be able requset assistance from someone else.If you have customers who only want to talk with you and don't mind calling back repeatedly, or you have no need of an auto-attendant, this system should work great for you.

Great Deal for Small Office Phone System
By Chris D
I bought this as a replacement phone system for our family business office. I thought I was taking a gamble since this system is priced so far below the other modular systems out there, but it is great so far Phones seem durable and look good. This system was so easy to set up. If you can set up a wired network router this will be a breeze. I needlessly bought a 5-port splitter as this kit came with 2 (you only use 4 of the ports on each). To set it up you simply plug in up to 4 incoming lines and then plug the splitter in and use up to 4 ports on each for the phones. If you buy more than the 8 phones included you will need another splitter or two. Programming the extension numbers is simple and using the phones is very intuitive. For now we aren't using the answering machine as we still use voice-mail through the phone company, so I had to set the delay for the auto-attendant to 20 seconds so voice-mail will pick up before the system. Also there is some hold music that plays as a default that the first few callers complained about, so we have turned that off as well. Very pleased with the system and highly recommend it.

Fantastic Phone System!
By Gretchen M Horton
We purchased the XBlue X16 small office phone system, and extremely happy with it! It has all of the features we wanted; auto attendant that has a delay so we can still answer the phone if we want to, individual voice mail boxes for our extensions, caller id, call forwarding, and the sound quality is superb! Before we decided to buy this system, we got a quote for a system to be provided and installed by a technician for 3-4 times as much as this system cost us. Why would anyone ever pay that much when this system is so easy to install and program? What a great buy!
