3Great Idea - Poor Execution
By travelguy uk
I had high hopes for this, but it just didn't deliver.Pros: The phones are fine, Push To Talk might be useful if you have one out in the garage or on a different floor, the answering machine would be OK except that most people have voicemail these days. The intercom between the phone and the doorbell unit works well. The adjustment for the camera angle is helpful.Cons: The camera image is very poor quality. If you are going to use a small LCD to display the picture, it doesn't seem like having a higher resolution camera would be a big deal. As it is, the picture provides a sort of blurry outline - kind of like a 1st gen cell phone screen and nothing like the product description photos. What's worse is that there is no adjustment for backlighting. If the doorbell camera is under a shaded porch roof, or happens to be looking past a shaded entry area into a bright outdoor area, the image of the person is very hard to make out.As was mentioned in another review, the doorbell camera unit can be powered by battery or AC power cube. The tradeoff is that for battery operation, you can't use the phone to activate the video - you must wait for someone to ring the door. It will send a still photo and you can view live video on battery only after the doorbell button is pressed. Haven't had it long enough to know how long the batteries will last. If you want to wire in the power cube, drilling a small hole through the doorframe or nearby wall is required. One other installation note: The camera adjustment isn't enough to allow mounting where most doorbell buttons are located. This means the camera box has to be mounted 6" or so above where the button currently is. That said - although there are provisions for ringing your old bell and using the phone speaker, it's not necessary to tie the new button into the old doorbell wire. The doorbell sound from the phone is sufficient to replace the old doorbell. I just removed the old button and covered the old wires.

3The doorbell is a cheap stuff.
By Daniel R.
The phones look good and they have interesting features, like push-to-talk, which make them to be used like walkies-talkies. The doorbell is awful. First, the quality of pictures is very very poor, something like 0,3 MP. Second, it requires to use AC to function properly. Seriously, who will make holes in his door to pass the cable and how many houses have an AC socket near the entry door? So, the concept is very interesting, but is very poor quality.

4works well - Camera could be better
By Donald H. Parsons Jr.
I was looking to replace an old 2.4ghz wireless phone system and had been looking at the DECT phones for awhile but hadn't taken the plunge. I decided to go with the IS7121 as my wife is always yelling through the door before she opens it. As others have mentioned, the camera on the doorbell is very low quality. You can almost make out who it is if you know them but if you don't, forget it. However, linking the phones to the front doorbell as an intercom is a great option to speak with someone outside before opening the door. I wired the doorbell module to an existing dorrbell and both the existing doorbell and the handsets both ring which is nice. I am using the doorbell on battery power since I have old brick construction and it is difficult to get transformer power to that spot without a lot of work.Pros:- phone handsets are much lighter than my old units and look good.- Intercom capability to the front door after the doorbell rings- phone connection strength is much better than old 2.4ghz phones- talking caller IDCons:- Camera quality makes this feature almost useless- The volume of the handsets at its highest setting isn't loud enough- Menu system makes it difficult to review pictures - takes about 7 or 8 clicks to see missed doorbell photos
