Great Bluetooth/Cordless Phone Set
By Irv Haas
The vtech DS6322 series of phone is an upgrade from the DS6222 series. Most of the same features and drawbacks are kept intact, but Bluetooth is an added feature. Why Bluetooth? This way this cordless let can function as a standard landline phone as well as a cell phone on the same handsets. Think of it as a two-line phone with one line attached to your cell phone. You just need to have this set "discover" your Bluetooth mobile phone (by placing it next to the base ) and all your contacts are immediately imported. Most of the pros and cons of the previous model have not been changed:PRO: Clear audio signal, easy to read display, answering machine, lighted keypad and screen, value pricedCON: Poor ringtones, most are monophonic, so musical rings are basically not available, when power disconnects you have to reset your time and date, 50-phone number limit on landline numbers (more available on cell phone downloads)Overall this is a nice package with features most consumers want. Vtech should have upgraded this phone with better ringtones is my main complaint. Vtech has priced this phone at a reasonable price point for most buyers.

Sleek phone
By ARod
I just bought the Vtech DS632-4. So far so good. I am using VOIP, but it seems to me that this phone loves that. I am sure it will performs as well with a traditional POST line. I had the Panasonic KX-TG7434, and the only feature that I "miss" is the talking caller ID and some ring tones, other than that, the Vtech is much better phone.PROS:-Fast dialing comparing to the Panasonic. The Panasonic is very sloooow in dialing.- The bluetooth. It pairs really nice with my Iphone. I am sure it will pair with any other cell phone, just keep in mind that you need to keep your cell phone next to the base of the Vtech to get the best signal posible, that way you can use the Vtech to make and receive phone call using your cell line or just switch to your land line or VOIP in my case. The Home Button to the left is for land line, the Cell Button to the right is for cell calls.- Easy to recall previous number dialed up to 50 per the owner's manual, and 50 received. You can transfer your cell contact list, it will not transfer all the numbers if you have more than one for a particular contact. Per the manual you can have or transfers using bluetooth up to 6000 contacts! Holy Cow!!! I have about 200.- Easy to edit a number that you are dialing. I have not seen that feature on cordless phone.- Loud and Clear, not question about this.CONS:-Limited and not so pleasant (ugly) ring tones. Come on Vtech, Is it that hard to upload some nice ring tones?-Now, the keypad is illuminated, but the Menu, Home, Cell, and Off buttons are not, this makes kind of hard to see those buttons in the dark, specially is your vision is kind of weak such is mine. Don't get fool but those pictures that you see on the Net.- The phone display uses the matrix type, it would have been nice is Vtech had made the numbers and letter a little bit bigger.Overall the Vtech is a very nice phone, the blue color of the display and keypad makes it to look modern! It has a nice answering machine, I don't use it because the VOIP offers tons of features that it will be hard to ignore. The keypad feels good and responsive.

ALMOST!!!

We love the concept of getting rid of our $30/month landline and having cordless phones around the house to use that communicate through our cell phones via bluetooth. The system seems to have great features that might make the concept practical for us:- Can pair via bluetooth to ***2*** cell phones so whoever is home - one or both of us - can make and receive calls thru our cell phones via any cordless phones. Of course this relies on us making sure we leave our cellphones next to the base for clear connection. The sound quality degrades severely if the cell phone is not very close to the base. Not sure how practical this is for us.- Great sound quality via land line or via cell phone when cell is next to base.- Awesome feature to be able to download and use our contact directories from our cell phones on the handsets!- Slim, nicely designed handsets with lithium ion batteries that are reported to have excellent talk timeWe've been giving it a test run, and the system seems great but there is one major flaw that may turn out to be a deal-breaker for us: My wife loves to clip a cordless phone to her belt and talk through a headset while doing chores around the house. These handsets do not have a headset jack. However, the system does support the use of a bluetooth headset. Problem is, the headset does not pair with the handset as you would expect, it has to pair with THE BASE UNIT. Bluetooth only gives you a clear sounding connection within 10 feet or so - so you will almost always be out of range from the base! TOTALLY USELESS!!! What a boneheaded mistake not to put normal headset jacks on the handsets.Since my wife constantly uses a headset with the cordless phone, it will be a tough decision of whether to also keep the old cordless phone system around (and replace the handset batteries), for her to use her cell phone directly with the headset every time, or to return the system and buy a new non - bluetooth cordless system that has headset jacks.Does anyone know of another system that does has similar features AND accomodate headsets? Or, am I missing something with this system that makes headset use practical?
