Happy with VTech CS6329-2 Phone that was sent by mistake
By ruel
I originally ordered the VTech CS6219-2 double set of phones **BUT** this VTech CS6329-2 double set of phones was instead mistakenly sent to me. My guess is that the amazon marketplace seller (someone who called himself "Freight Liquidation"), who sold this to me, must have run out of the VTech CS6219-2 that I originally ordered and he apparently must have wanted to keep the sale to me by sending me this VTech CS6329-2 instead. The main difference between the two types of phones is that the VTech CS6219-2 that I originally wanted was an older model that did NOT have a built-in answering machine, while this VTech CS6329-2 which I actually received was a newer model that had a built-in answering machine. Although I was initially upset with receiving the wrong set of phones, I got over that because this VTech CS6329-2 does look nicer, shinier, and newer. This double set of phones with docking station for each are okay and I only spent about eighteen dollars plus S&H.This VTech CS6329-9 has the built-in answering machine - although I really didn't want that feature. The reason as to why I didn't want the built-in answering machine is because I already had a voicemail service. Since I didn't want the built-in answering machine, I could just turn off that function. So I turned off that function by pressing a button on the front of the main docking station for the phone. But I also set the answering machine settings to six rings (because the voicemail should pick up the call before the six rings) to make sure that the built-in answering machine didn't work if someone accidentally pressed the button to turn on the built-in answering machine on this VTech CS6329-2. If you want to use the built-in answering machine, it's there for you to use if you actually want to get this particular phone. However, I don't know how well the answering-machine function actually works because I don't plan to ever use it.Otherwise, using this VTech CS6329-2 is pretty straightforward if you've used these type of phones before. You can read the manual for yourself for details about how to set up the phone and how to change the settings on the phone. The one feature that I do like on this phone is the speakerphone. Just press the middle round speakerphone button. The speakerphone is very nice to use for when I could sit the phone down and talk without having to put the phone to my ear. You just have to remember that you will always need to press the red "OFF" button to end the call. Pressing the middle speakerphone button again will not hang up the call. Note, however, if you turn on the speakerphone, a drawback is that sometimes whoever is on the other end of the line may possibly hear some echo because the phone's microphone piece may pick up the sound from the phone's speaker. So, if the other caller is telling you that there is an echo, then you may want to take the call off the speakerphone. There is no earphone jack and no bluetooth on this phone. Some people like to use some sort of earphone or headset with their phones. But this is not a cell phone. This is a more of a house phone, desk phone, office phone. I use a bluetooth ear-headset with my Apple iPhone, but I don't understand why I would want to use earphones or a headset with these VTech CS6329 phones. Anyways if you walk around the house with this phone, I don't recommend that you put the phone in your pocket or in a holster because the buttons can be too easily pressed and that may somehow accidentally make a call (or hang up your call) or put your phone in a busy off-hook no-one-can-call-you mode. Use the phone like a regular phone that is placed next to your ear or use the speakerphone on the phone. Each of the two phones take 16 hours each to fully recharge the individual phone's battery. So, it's a good thing that this VTech CS6329-2 is a double set of phones, meaning it came with two identical phones (one for the main docking station and the other for a smaller docking station), because if one phone runs out of battery power, then I can put that phone in the dock to fully recharge for sixteen hours and grab the other phone to use. The manual says that the battery power on the phone should last for seven days. I would say with moderate usage, you may want to expect to have to fully recharge a phone after somewhere between two to four days if you don't keep the phone sitting in the dock between calls.Oh, for those who are wondering, this VTech CS6329-2 did not interfere with my home's Wi-Fi internet.Whether you actually want to order this phone for yourself or if this phone is sent to you by mistake, I think you will like and enjoy using this phone. Thanks for reading this review.

paper weight

I bought this item as new. The item well packed, but it was an open box item with return markings on it (someone brought back to store). I have had this happen before with items from the internet, and had no issues, so I did not worry. A couple of days later I had the time to change and program the phones and at first it looked as if everything was well, but it was not until I received a call later that day that I realized the item was defective. There is an interference that does not let me understand a word that the callers are saying. I tried changing cords, hand set and even wall plugs, but the problem persisted. I connected my old telephone and did not have any problems what so ever. This item was not checked or was not checked properly before selling it. I tried contacting seller and even left a note on Amazon. But as of now I still have the same old phone and a new paper weight. I will not buy from Amazon if is not an item sold and shipped by Amazon.Stay away from this seller.

The last VTech phone I will buy
By E. Deken
I have had these phones for almost a year exactly. They were easy to set up and worked mostly ok and we were well-enough pleased with them. The buttons on the base were hard to press, but that was not a big deal. However, a month or so ago the answering machine portion of the main base lost all sound. We can see that we have messages, and the light blinks but there is zero sound when you press play. Then last week, handset two just died. Completely died, will not charge or work. There has been no trauma, no damage of any kind to the phones. We probably only used the 2nd handset 20 times total, and kept it in the charger all the times not in use. I tried all the troubleshooting tips and nothing. I called VTech and of course because it is one year since purchase, and I didn't save the receipt anyway, there is "nothing they can do".This is the third time I've bought VTech phones (all different models) and had to replace them. I am very disappointed to have finally spent over $100 on phones thinking that would give us an assurance of better quality, to find that is not the case. I am consistently reminded how poorly VTech phones are made and I will not be buying them again.
