Great phone with no cons

I've had this phone for a week now. I preferred it over the newer Uniden DECT3080-3, because this model's base unit has a speakerphone and the DECT3080 apparently doesn't. I'm surprised that so few users have reviewed this phone on Amazon as of the date of this review.Some points:-The sound quality on the handsets is quite clear.-There is no observable interference, and the range is not a problem in my apartment.-To me, the ringer volume sounds just right - it's neither too low nor too high.-This phone has a call privacy feature to prevent others from prying. I haven't used this feature, but if you do use it, I think it would be required that all of your telephones on this line are handsets connected to this base unit.-The three handsets come preprogrammed to work with the base. Additional handsets must be programmed manually before they can be used - this process is quite simple.-Additional handsets are available in multiple colors as well - red, white, blue, and black.I bought this phone from a local store so that I could easily return it if I needed to. If you do buy it, I strongly suggest reading the manual before setting up the phone.If there was one feature I could ask for, it would be a mini-USB port on the base to allow me to communicate with the phone from my computer, so I could make configuration changes, and especially to edit the address books. This, however, may be a lot to ask for.

It has every feature

I had a Panasonic KX-TG1033S Dect 6.0 for nine months and it was a nice telephone except...... when someone called and left a recorded message the only way you knew it was by a small flashing light there is no audible beep as a result we were just missing too many calls. So I went on line to the manufactures web sites and started downloading their operating manuals on telephones that I was interested in. The manual on this phone told me everything I needed to know. This phone has so much going for it that I could write a book but rather than that I suggest you do as I did.[...]

Outstanding

I've been using this phone system a month now. Outstanding in almost every way.One complaint I have is that when using the intercom feature to reach another family member located elsewhere in the house, not only does the phone on their end ring, but so does the extension/handset you're calling FROM. This is highly annoying.One other issue is that when the line is in use by someone else in the home, you only see an LCD readout saying "LINE IN USE" on the base and extensions. Since the screen is not backlit until the handset is put in use, this readout is hard to see. It would be nicer if there was an actual light that indicated that the line was in use. However, if the line is in use, all extensions are prohibited from making outgoing calls, so this at leasts stops someone from interfering with the existing call (nice feature). But folks, these are really my only complaints so far, and I'm very happy with the purchase.Clarity on the calls is outstanding. I have a 4000 sq ft home, and I never get any static or other issues on any of the handset extensions (I bought an additional DCX200 handset).Being able to enter a phone book entry and transfer it to all the other handsets is an outstanding feature. We also like being able to see, hear and delete voicemail from all extensions.I wanted a base unit with keypad (with speakerphone) and this unit was perfect. The base speakerphone is clear and works well. Callers say they can hear me fine through it.The speakerphones on the handsets also work well.I would definitely buy this product again, and have recommended it to my friends.
