Disappointment after last Uniden

Bought this to replace older Uniden Dect 6.0 phones that were having problems (batteries not holding charge, bad buttons). Very disappointed in this newer equipment. With old Uniden, would get a "searching" message periodically -- once every week or two. This would show up before placing a call, very rarely during a call.With these Uniden D1680-3 phones, do not see a "seaching" message -- phones simply go dead in the middle of a call (about once per day!). About 50% of the time, the phone will restore itself (haven't lost the call, just neither party could hear the other). The rest of the time the call has to be redialed.Uniden emphasizes not returning the product, but to call their service line. Did so. This problem must be frequent -- they even have a special recording for it. Had already tried all of the things the recording suggested, except their last suggestion -- replace the phones with something else!!! So, I guess that is what I will do.

Home phone that drops calls???

How is it actually possible that my home phone drops calls and "searches for signal" just steps from the main base? It happens during most calls and the person you are speaking with does not even know they cannot be heard so you sound like a moron when/if you get them back. Honestly, my cell phone works better in my house and that is almost never. Do we have to go back to cord phones?

Worst system ever!

Aside from daily call dropping, which is the most annoying and outright worst feature of this system, the input for the directory is time consuming and counter intuitive -- I've used Panasonic and V-tech systems that a far easier. The answering machine doesn't display the time that a message was left so you have to scroll through the caller ID to get that info. This is the 21st century and if Uniden can't manufacture a phone that actually works, it better close shop right now!!
