About DECT Technology: Advanced DECT 6.0 technology, or Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, operates on the newly released 1.9 GHz frequency band that was recently allocated to support cordless telephony. Registration issues caused lower rating

I am using this add-on phone with the DECT 2185-3, all purchased through Amazon. All the phones including the waterproof add-on phone registered just fine with the base unit. This particular one did not. It simply said "Searching" none of the steps in the included manual would get this unit to register with the base. So, I sent for a replacement. When I received the replacement I got the same problem. Wondering if it was user error I re-checked the manual, both of them, the one for the base and for the and-on phone. I confirmed this add-on phone, which is identical to the ones that came with the base, worked with my base. Just before I was ready to call Uniden support I looked on their website and found this expanded manual […]This manual walks you through the process of de-registering the add-on phone, once I de-registered it and stuck it back in the base it registered just fine. Why I needed to de-register the phone is beyond me. So, I have to give it three stars for making me go through these hoops to get it to work with my base.Otherwise I bought this phone and base unit according to the other user comments and ratings and I do very much like all the features of the phone.As a reminder, I'm not rating the base unit a 3 star, only this particular accessory DCX210.

Nice Phone System

I had to replace my old Uniden phone system, which had lasted at least 13 years. Because of the quality of the prior unit I was again looking at Uniden. I am happy with that decision.The phone systems has a phonebook, Caller ID and other features one would expect with a home phone system. The one feature that it doesn't have, that the previous Uniden system had, was a feature that lit up the entire display of the base unit when a message was pending for me. That feature made it easy for me to see when I came home because it was prominent. This new system has small red lights that flash every 4-5 seconds atop every handset, which means you have to look just a bit harder and longer to see if you have messages waiting for you. I scored the overall and Features grade lower because of that.

Quality upgrade.

I needed a phone to expand my existing Uniden Dect 6.0 system. But I had doubts that my older Dect 6.0 would match with the newer model. I took a chance and am glad I did. Although I needed to speak with customer service at Uniden to get the phones communicating, which was quick and courteous, the new phone is much better (clearer sound, better hand feel, improved button response, etc.) than the other phones on my system. I would recommend it for anyone considering an additional Dect phone.
