FABULOUS PHONE - 5 STARS

I've been using this phone for about two weeks now, and I LOVE it. Another reviewer here has stated that there was volume difficulty - both in listening and being heard by the person with whom they were speaking. It's possible this person received a "lemon". It's also possible the reviewer did not adjust the volume when using the head or hand set. I have had ZERO audio problems. After fully charging this unit, my very first conversation was with a dear friend who was on her cell phone, in a hospital room -- so she had to keep her voice down. I was using the head set. I could hear her perfectly and she was able to hear ME, just fine. My prime obective in purchasing this phone, was to find a good, reliable cordless phone with a good, reliable, user-friendly cordless headset. So--plusses:1) wonderful, compact design2) switch from handset to headset with the push of a button3) REALLY easy set-up, for storing names and numbers4) speed dial5) using the handset alone, it is very comfortable on the ear. Head set accessory also VERY comfortable.6) VOLUME CONTROL, on both head and hand sets, allows you to adjust the volume for your comfort level.7) If you have voice mail through your phone service provider (which I do) - the receiver will blink with a prominent flashing blue light, to let you know you have messages.8) Handset monitor window will indicate, "00 Calls" if you've not received any new calls. I really like this. You don't have to scroll through the log of incoming calls. Monitor will also indicate "2 messages", etc. if you've got messages waiting for you.9) handset has an additional jack built in, for another, wired, headset, if one wishes to use such an attachment.two Negatives - one rather miniscule, the other potentially important:1) The ear hook that comes with this is totally useless and uncomfortable. I wish RCA had spent the extra 50 cents to provide an adjustable, substantial ear hook. Thankfully, the "head band" version, which attaches VERY easily to the head set accessory, is very comfortable. So I'm just using that.2) the text that one sees on the handset monitor is very small. This does not bother me, because I'm a relatively young adult and have good eye sight. But if you have difficulty reading small text, or if you have eyesight that is compromised, the small size of the text on the handset monitor could pose a serious problem, and you may wish to purchase something else.Lastly, I did a lot of research, and actually tested two other phones before purchasing this one. I'm happy to say, after all the testing, like Goldilocks, this one is "just right". I'd give it more than 5 stars, if there were such a rating. SO glad I found this!!!

Too affected by other electrical appliances in area

I'm assuming that the problem with the echo given off by the headset is because I had located it in a room beside my computer printer, which is where I need the phone. It's really of no use to me if I have to put it somewhere other than where I need it. The instructions even say you can get interference with it located on the lower floor of the house . . . not sure what good it really is. I had the previous version and it worked fine for me in the same location. This one echos and buzzes, so is useless.

Professional headset for the home

I recently started working from home and needed a headset for my meetings. This was the right price and I am very pleased with it. Headset is light and comfortable. No complaints as far as call quality and sound. Just what I needed.
