5Great phone for landline SOHO
By K's Mom
When our trusty but old Polycom bit the dust I spent a ridiculous amount of time cruising the web trying to figure out if there were any good landline duplex speakerphones, to no avail (I hate headsets). It turns out landline phones are dinosaurs and any new phone being made, Polycom included, are all IP. These days I have no patience or bandwidth to investigate new technology--I just need a phone that works and I recall anyone on a conf call with crappy connection is on mobile or VoIP. SO, I took a risk on this ugly looking phone that had mediocre reviews, and I can say after 1 week of intense use on all sorts of business calls, the sound quality has been excellent and it truly is a duplex conversation. It's not perfect - I do hear some crackles for the first 1-2 seconds of speech of someone dialed in on a mobile or a bad speakerphone, but you can get rid of that by picking up the handset. What is more important to me is that everyone has said my voice sounds crystal clear to them, and they can't tell I'm on a speaker.

2Garbage
By Brian Budris
I went through two of these. The sound kept cutting out on the first one and no one could hear me speak. Same problem with the second one. The speaker and headset worked ok, but the handset didn't. It seems that there is a defect in the handset wire connectors.

2Can't set up what line you want to use
By Steve Koszylowsky
As a home office user, I got this phone primarily for using at my desk. The issue is, you can't set up which of the two lines is your primary line (I have a "work" line and a "home" line...as do most people who work from home and still rely on landlines). When I pick up the phone, I want it to automatically default to my business line. I don't want to accidentally make calls from my home line. You can't set that up with this phone. You're stuck with whatever your phone company has set up as your primary and secondary lines. With my old AT&T 993 (not a great phone either by the way...the headset connection/sound is terrible) that wasn't a problem.I never really used the phone because I never got past the set-up but it looks nice, screen seems easy to read, phone handle was way too light for my taste...I like to hold something a little more substantial and this felt a bit cheap...but that's personal preference.
