5Discontinued Polycom Still Works Well

These Lucent/Polycom Sound Points work great. Generally far better than any speaker phone out there.I had to hook this up with my AT&T SynJ SB67158 phone which I use at home. The AT&T has a pretty good speaker phone in it but sometimes people have trouble hearing me. It's generally because of poor line conditions or they are wearing headsets that muffle sound or the headsets are improperly adjusted. When that happens I switch on the Sound Point and the volume goes up with the clarity.The problems are the Sound Point is discontinued, and they only work on only one line. I have a four line phone so if I'm making a speaker phone call I have to use line 1.If the line 1 problem is an issue for you, you can get an in-line phone line switch. They're cheap.The discontinued part means you have to buy them used. Make sure it comes with a power supply and that it has some kind of short warranty of say 30 to 90 days. The price from reputable sellers should be $40 to $75 plus shipping. The price should depend on the warranty.PS This September I found a new one still in its sealed box. I paid $30 for it including shipping and tax, so there are deals on these to be found. Everyone I call says this speaker phone works great.
