Calisto 835 solved a home office problem
By carr
I needed SOMETHING to improve my work from home set up; I am on conf calls for at least half of every workday. My cordless phone (with speaker phone) was okay, but on calls with multiple attendees, the sound quality wasn't cutting it. And I had to be mindful of the time so I could switch handsets before the battery had to be recharged. And headsets? Forget it; no matter what, they just aren't comfortable to wear for hours at a time. The calisto 835 worked as advertised right out of the box. Set up was easy - intuitive. Worked with Microsoft Lync-- all I had to do was plug it in. Works great with my landline AND my mobile. I REALLY like the wireless mic - I can run calls, type notes, speak at a natural volume & be on calls for hours -- comfortably and with good sound quality. I would like to be able to adjust tone/sound quality a little; perhaps the full user's guide has this information -- I haven't looked yet.The device is small and takes up very little space on my desk. It can be powered from the USB port on my PC, but if the PC is off, so is the unit; I may start using the AC adapter.I do miss being able to get up and leave the room (get a cup of tea or a snack) and still be able to listen -- and unmute if needed.

Great! Almost.

This product is great - it is serving as the ideal interconnect between my computer (VOIP and Skype), my land line, and my cell/mobile phone. It is USB powered, but also comes with a wall adapter. The speaker is very clear, and the microphone on the base station has meant that so far I haven't really had to use the lapel mic that much. The only niggles are that the touch pad could be more sensitive, and the mute function on the lapel mic is a little confusing - in that I haven't yet (after a couple of weeks) mastered when the mic is muted and when its not. A bonus - I am also able to use this as a microphone for my iMac voice to text functionality, seamlessly. Overall very happy with my purchase and the product.

Misses the mark with crippled software
By Mike
I was looking for a speakers phone for my office that could handle multiple ins put sources. I use regular phones m soft phones , cell phones and was looking for an all in one. With that being said the speakerphone does connect to ALL of these devices seamlessly. The quality of the calls is decentThe add on lapel is pretty much uselessAfter every single call the device try's to get you to add it to the internal phone book with no way to shut this feature offMisses the mark
