The phone works well. It is a good reproduction of an old princess-style phone with modern electronics and a modular plug (so I was able to plug it directly into the standard wall jack we have in our newly constructed home.)The touchtone buttons are cleverly placed or some would say hidden in a mock rotary dial so the phone looks authentic. One pleasant surprise, the phone has the weight and substance of a vintage phone -- it's NOT a lightweight. One slight disappointment, and it is only slight, the ringer makes an electronic trill rather than a more vintage bell sound. But, hey, you can't have everything.

Please shut the ringer off!!!

I purchased this phone for my husband thinking it looked like a man's phone. We figured out pretty quickly it had a flaw, you can't shut the ringer off. You can turn it down but even on low it is still pretty loud. If you don't want to be woken up by a ringing phone on Sunday morning, this is not the phone for you.

very sturdy, great sound - but broken two months later!

**UPDATE** stopped working two months after I got it. What a bummer! I liked it while it lasted. one day it just wouldn't ring, then the buttons went out, then it wouldn't hang up or pick up. I didn't drop it or spill anything on it. Maybe despite the sturdy outer casing the wiring just wasn't done right. Could be that I got a lemon, but I suspect shady manufacturing. At least it will look cute as a play phone for the kids.***OLD REVIEW***This phone is way sturdy! I expected the light flimsy modern plastic landfill fodder which often accompanies novelty accessories, but this feels built to last. It's just as hefty and substantial as the long-lived princess phone my mom had as a kid. Solid metal base. There are two volume options for the earpiece and ringer. Sound is crisp and clear. Not just for decoration! Also shipped fast from seller.
