Major Step up from Previous Models

I purchased this item to replace a 6000 series Panasonic cordless phone. Those models had some design issues (e.g, no message count indicator) and technical flaws (very poor microphones - people were constantly complaining that they could not hear me). The KX-TG7624SK unit corrects these problems and adds a whole host of new features, including a very capable Bluetooth link to your cell phones. Sound quality in and out is superb.

Panasonic Link-to Cell

We love the phone package; it meets all of our needs.We purchased this unit because it had the Bluetooth capability built in and we wanted to sync up our two cell phones. We were using another handset with a Bluetooth add-on unit that worked ok, but had multiple wires needed to connect everything and it often disconnected.We do not have a land line; use Skype as our primary phone service. So incoming can be Skype to Skype or to our paid number from them. Each of our Cell phones sync up as soon as we walk in the door. We found a convenient location in the house with good cell phone coverage and we plug both cell phones in to charge. Then we never touch them again until we leave the house.* Call clarity is excellent for all incoming and outgoing calls. Handset or speakerphone)* Display shows the time of day, date and which cell phones are synced up. With our old Bluetooth system we missed many calls because they got out-of-sync and you didn't know unless you went up to the base station and looked at the status.* The phone speaks the number of incoming call or says the name of Skype caller.* Looking at any of the phones you can see what the source of the call is. For instance, when I get a call on my cell phone "Samsung" will flash on the display (model of my phone). If we both had the same model phone (we don't), I don't know how it would differentiate between which cell the call came from.* Adding a phone number to the address on any phone automatically gets sent to every phone in the set. A very nice plus, the last phone system we had to manually update each phone.* You can accept multiple calls at the same time! I was taking a call on a handset that came into my cell phone. All of a sudden I heard my phone make a beep-beep sound and the rest of the phones started ringing. My wife was able to answer a call coming into her cell phone from another handset in the system. This may not happen often, but a very nice feature that we were not aware of. I assume a call from the landline portion would have had the same result?* You can make a call from either cell phone by selecting the CELL option and pick which phone you want to make the call from (so no land line needed)* I can't comment on the answering system built in as we use our cell phone service if we miss a call.

Great phone

I really like this phone. It replaced my older Panasonic phone/answering machine. It has many features that are not in some of the shorter descriptions of the phone found on line. Here's a summary:1. Synchs via Bluetooth to two cell phones. Can also synch a headset but they recommend the headset be close to the base station. Receives calls from either of the two cell phones.2. Automatically re-synchs when you return to your house.3. Allows you to keep cell phones where they can get good reception from your cell phone carrier tower and use Panasonic handsets elsewhere in house (like in the cellar where you might not get good cell coverage)4. Handset ringer tone can be made the same as you have on the cell phone (if your cell phone supports "Bluetooth in-band ring tone").5. Downloads up to 3050 contacts from cell phones (downloaded 600 contacts in a couple of minutes). Only need to do this once. Can store in up to 3 groups that are then each searchable.6. All handsets have access to the downloaded cell phone contacts.7. Access downloaded cell contacts (and any others manually entered) via key pad. (Push the key with the first letter of the person's name. e.g. for "J", press the "5" key (JKL) once, for "L" press the "5" key (JKL) three times to get to the "L" contacts, etc. Then use the scroll button to access the name you want.8. Blocks up to 30 individual phone numbers. Cellular calls are rejected, land line calls get busy signal. This is good, but it still rings once while figuring out what the calling number is, then is silent. Blocked numbers are indicated as such in the caller ID list.9. Can erase selected caller ID list entries.10. Can store caller ID list entries to phone book.11. Speaks names of callers if you have caller ID.12. Missed calls (calls not answered) are indicated by "Missed Call" on display so you can view the caller ID list to see who called.13. Caller list scrollable and can be used to call the party back.14. Supports call waiting and switching to the new caller.15. Individual ringer tones on each handset16. Each handset has a speaker phone17. Base unit has a speaker phone18. Digitally recorded answering machine voice quality is good (10 times better than the old Panasonic phone I had). Can specify max length of each message to be either 1 or 3 minutes. Total of 18 minutes or 64 messages.19. Call screening.20. Can access answering machine from each handset.21. Wireless range is super. I can be anywhere in my 0.5 acre yard and still use the handsets.22. If you have a voice mail account on your land line via your land line provider, each handset will indicate whether there is an unheard voicemail there.23. Each handset can be "named", e.g. "Living Room" or "Bedroom", etc., you type it in.24. Has a handset "finder" button on each handset.25. Each handset has its own charger.26. Set the time once and all handsets see the change.27. Automatically reduces the power (ECO) mode if the handset is "nearby".28. Bluetooth device "synch" LED indicators on the base unit.29. Can use handset to call out on either cell phone.30. Mute button. Hold button,31. Ringer volume can be set on each handset independently.32. Handset equalizer to adjust tone.33. You can answer a cell phone call while on a land line call.34. During a power outage, one handset provides power to the base unit and the other handsets can make calls through the base unit as usual. Cannot use the handset providing power to the base unit in this situation, of course.35. Redial list for redialing previously made calls.36. Selectable "Silent Mode" time for sleeping.37.
