Very disappointed!
By A Customer
We have several Panasonic phones and have always been pleased with their performance. So, when our old Sony phone finally died on us, we wanted to replace it with a reasonably priced, white, cordless phone with digital answering system and caller ID. This was one of the few white phones on the market that met these requirements. We were excited about the 2.4 GHz technology that is supposed to provide such great range capabilities and felt confident with the brand name.
However, after 3 weeks of use, the phone is driving us (and our friends who call us) crazy. The reception cuts out on almost every call, even when we are standing next to the base unit. It is guaranteed to drop the call if I walk down the hall or upstairs in my home. I haven't even tried to venture into the driveway with it! Also, it sounds like there is a constant echo when speaking into the phone. At first, I thought turning down the volume and turning the voice enhancer off might help, but it didn't. Right now, I am shopping for a different phone to replace this one. Very frustrating!

Good phone for the money
By ContentBuyer
Purchased this phone from Walmart at the best price I found while looking on internet. The phone has several useful features including 2.4 GHz operation, 15 minute total answering machine, caller ID, full functionality from the handset, and what I liked, speaker phone. This last feature makes the phone really convenient. You can turn it on/of during a phone call if needed. What's really nice for me at least, is the fact that the phone is long and you can actually feel comfortable having it next to your face and it long enough to go from your ear to your mouth.
Onto critiqueing the comments that I have read. I must be the lucky one in that I had not had any battery issues whatsoever. In fact, after the battery has been charged in the cradle, I don't usually return the handset back until the battery gets low (as recommended in the manual) and have about 1 week of off/on use as the result. What I must agree is a little annoying is the fact that the answering machine has an LCD message indicator that isn't backlit and this makes for a tough time quickly seeing whether you have had messages. But, looking at the handset periodicaly can assist or STARING at the message indicator (not that bad though).
Overall, I'd recommend the phone

So far, so good...
By jjlash
Ive only had the phone a few weeks so time will tell, but so far Im happy. Horrible battery life and poor sound quality on both the recorded greeting and on the recorded message were the primary reasons for replacing the old phone.
The biggest complaint from other reviewers seems to be the battery, but for me the battery life is worth every penny of the purchase price. The first few charges have each lasted a full week before the battery indicator was down to "one bar". During this week, there was probably only about hour of usage, but this is pretty typical for our household.
I havnt recorded a greeting yet, but the quality of recorded messages is just as clear as is the sound during a call. The phone has some kind of voice enhancement capability, but it is turned off.
I dont need the phone to have great range, but walked around the yard with it just to see what it could do. At 100-125 feet, there was no change in the sound quality so that was good enough for my use.
No review would be complete without mentioning the things you dont like, so...I only have two:
As others have mentioned, the "number of messages" display is hard to read because it is not backlit.
It would be really nice if the handset displayed the date/time when it is not in a call. I know it has that info because you use the handset to set the date/time. Oh Well...
