poor sound quality, confusing interfact

I purchased a Panasonic KX-TGA402N with two handsets at Target last year and am not happy with the product. I was looking for a cordless phone with a built-in answering machine; however, I sincerely regret giving away my old answering machine. The old one had great sound quality, and the messages I receive on the Panasonic sound like they were recorded underwater. It is often very difficult to make out the words, which sort of defeats the purpose of the answering machine.The interface is not intuitive. We're not complete idiots, but figuring out how to go through the Caller ID list and delete old numbers is a huge chore. You have to press a few buttons to access the list, and to delete a number from the list you need to press three buttons and then wait a few seconds before it continues to the next number. This makes deleting a long list of numbers a much more time-consuming task than it needs to be. There is also no easy way to turn off the ringer or control the volume, which means that if I need to sleep, I have to take the other phone (not cordless) off the hook for the night rather than turn all the ringers off and let the answering machine take messages for me with the volume muted.I am not at all happy with this purchase and am hoping to find an easy-to-use cordless phone with better sound quality.

At least two of the six phones don't work

I have at least two of the six phone that are not working....still trying to figure out which ones keep cutting out. So far I've isolated 2. There was no instruction manual and that adds to my frustration.
