5GREAT product for the money!
By J. Cazalas
I purchased a two handset package (Panasonic Dect) at Sams several months ago, and we've been nothing but pleased. The reception is amazing!I needed a second phone to use on a separate second line at our home (small business). However, for me, there was no need to spend an extra 20 bucks or so for an answering machine, as we prefer to use the phone company's answering service. So this phone was stripped of that feature and works perfectly!Bottom line, you get what you pay for. In this case, you get a great phone, made from probably the top cordless phone company (for home users), and you get it at a price of less than $40. I actually paid $40 right on the dot, as mine was picked up from the local Best Buy.The other reviewer complained that it doesn't come with a backlight. Well, if you want a backlight, pay 10 more bucks for a model with that feature! I mean, complaints like that are, well, respectfully, stupid. It's like ordering this phone and complaining that it didn't have an answering machine built in. Well, the more expensive version does have an answering machine, and there are other versions with a back light. So determine the features you want, examine your filtered choices, and pick the best product for you.I use this at a small business and therefore CHOSE not to pay an extra 5 or 10 bucks for the model with the backlight, as we use the phone during the day.Bottom line, a great phone for the price. And the reception is crazy amazing compared to any other frequencies.Hope this helps someone.

5No frills great cordless phone
By Michael Smith
My office needed a good cordless phone to replace an aging 2.4GHz V-Tech model. With all the bluetooth and WiFi devices in a high tech office, surely there are way too many radio waves permeating this busy band/spectrum.Having good luck with previous Panasonic cordless phones, I thought we'd try this no frills DECT model out. Call clarity is excellent and the configuration menus are easy to deal with (though we really had no need to change any of the settings.) It's hooked up to an analog PBX extension and works great. Range is also easily 100ft through walls -- very impressive. The phone sits in its charger all day so I can't really comment on the battery life at this time.So sure, it's not a commercial model. But if it works well in an office of 50+ people, it'll surely work well in your home if you don't need multiple handsets (though it is expandable at a high cost.) Definitely recommended!

5Stylish, functional, popular priced
By Louis Sander
I've been using this phone for over a month, and I couldn't be happier. It is a beautifully styled phone with a small footprint and well-designed controls. The only control on the base is a big button that you press when you want to find the handset. The handset responds by ringing until you find it.The handset is also beautifully styled, and the controls are large, legible, and easy to use. The manual is complete and easy to understand, but you really don't need it if you are familiar with the operation of contemporary phones -- this one is highly intuitive. My base station is in my second floor office, and I most frequently use the handset outside my house, 50-100 feet away and through some aluminum siding. Communication in unfailingly crystal-clear, with just a bit of fading from time to time. I carry the handset in my pocket, where it fits well and is easy to insert and remove. It is very lightweight, and the battery charge lasts a long time. I made a 2 hour call today, and the battery showed fully charged at the end.My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the slim, smooth design of the handset makes it very hard to clamp between my ear and my shoulder, so I always need to devote one hand to holding it.I've owned dozens and dozens of phones since the days when you could only get them from Ma Bell, and I have to say this is the best-working, most aesthetically pleasing one I've ever had.
