I have both the Obi200 and the Obi202. They are both set up using a Google Voice account. I sent the 200 to the Congo Africa and the 202 is in the US. The African unit is connected to a WiFi router that is receiving internet through a satellite modem with minimal bandwidth. A call direct to the other Obi unit is nearly flawless most of the time. Once in a while it starts to chop a little, but I chalk it up to the fact that the bandwidth is shared with up to 20 other devices. Calls using the Google account to and from the US are equally as good - very clear, better than a cell phone. Actually, I would say they are as good as a land line. Best of all, since the devices have US numbers, calls from Africa to any other US phone are free for the African caller, and most likely free for the receiver these days. The the same is true for the US device calling the Google number in Africa - FREE. For anyone wanting to do this same kind of setup, the Google accounts have to be set up in the US before being used over seas. You won't be able to get a Google number over seas. Well, there are ways, but it is involved...Anyway, these are MY experiences and I am a happy customer of Obihai.

FIred my phone service.

Goodbye $30 monthly bill. This little device surpassed my expectations. Bought the WIFI USB adapter and connected to Google Voice. Now, my calls rings on my cell, home phone, and gmail. Voice quality, excellent so far. I expect my cellular usage will go down also. I am a happy camper.

Not a single drop call, just like regular phone line. We use it in Pakistan with no problem what so ever on 2MB PTCL DSL line. Basically you are local to USA with no monthly bills. The voice quality is clear, no interruptions, it always connects in first attempt and with 5 seconds. There are no complains at all.You do need to read up a little bit on setup. it might not work right away out of the box. Some helpful tips are1. You must have made at least one call from your google voice account.2. Your google account must be the primary account3. You must enable "send to chat request" in order for the phone to ring. I had this problem4. If you travel to Pakistan, it will not work first because google will stop your sign as your IP has changed from US to Pakistan. You must login into google and confirm that this was you. The phone will start working again.-----------------------------Should you buy obi202 or obi200-----------------------------Well Obi202 has some edges. It has wifi (need a separate dongle), has router (Ethernet In/Out) and QoS. Make it your call. I preferred wired connection so I went for this unit. If you need portability, you can go for cordless phone that will go with this unit. Some one pointed out, most routers these days have QoS built in so you should not be worried about it (I have not confirmed this myself). I am overall very happy with this unit.Just a caution, I connected a very cheap china made mode and could not make a single call to US. Incoming were coming fine though. Make sure you use a decent quality phone to not have these issues :) I connected my other phone back and have no issues what so ever.
