Less functionality than the Snom m3
By Cam C.
I bought this to replace my depreciated Snom m3 handset. I'm a front office manager, and loved the m3 as it allowed me to handle answering the phone and transferring calls to coworkers who are not tied to a desk.Unfortunatly, the m9 lacks some of the functionality that the m3 had. I am unable to put calls on hold using the softkeys, and once a call is on hold I am unable to transfer it without bringing it off of hold. This often comes up in my workplace as I don't always know who is here, or what phone they are near. When this was brought up on the Snom support forums, the response was "You don't need to transfer a call once it is on hold". Yes, Snom, I do. It's a cordless handset, you should be able to accept the fact that not everyone works at a desk and is at a predictable location. The m9 seems slower than the m3. Many of the functions I use require more key presses with greater delays than the m3.I'm pretty disappointed. I am not likely to purchase another Snom product.(2 out of 5, because the quality of the materials is good, and the phone does work)

Great for Home Office
By Christian
I bought this for the home office. We have an IP-PBX in the office that supports registrations from home, and I love it when I can walk inside the house and the garden with my office extension. The battery easily survives the day, even when talking a lot. The registration process could be easier and I had to do a software upgrade, but that's how it is in the IP-PBX world. Compared to what I had before, it makes my life easier.

Good product, poor support
By Greg
This telephone is VOIP-based, and the integration of the handset with the service provider involves a considerable number of technical issues. When we had problems and called the vendor they said "we sell them, not support them" and when we called the manufacturer they gave the name of a guy. We're guessing this guy is an independent consultant, although its hard to be sure because he doesn't answer his phone and won't return our messages. At this stage we have made the phone work by lots of active experimentation, although 2 out of the three handsets we bought immediately drop the inbound call when we try to transfer to another handset. We've run out of ideas, and can;t get help to solve this issue. The handset is otherwise sound, and certainly the portabliity aspect is very useful.
