Works great. I purchased this microphone from SONY as my used receiver didn't have one. It's 22.95 direct from SONY. Find your receiver manual and follow the directions for setup/optimization and this thing works like a breeze. Great item.

Lost my original unit over many moves, this is exact OEM unit required for my Sony ES Receiver no longer available this unit worked perfectly and made the normally very complex setup of my 5 speaker setup a breeze.

My ears are not tuned well enough for me to actually tell the difference between the sound before and after using the microphone. It was fully compatible with my Sony IS10 but as I said, I can't tell the difference, so maybe the purchase was useless for me. If there's something noticeably wrong with your surround sound and the volumes and what not need adjustment, go for it.
