The 3 C's "Crisp Clean Clear"
By B. Drasby
I use this phone as a VOIP and it has a crisp, clean and clear sound. When I first set up the phone system I discovered if the base is to close to any electronic equipment then an echo is heard. Once I discovered this and made the necessary changes the sound has remained "Crisp, Clean and Clear!"

Excellent phones with crisp reception
By A GIFT FOR YOU
I was shocked to read the previous reviews since my experience was totally the opposite. My phones don't only work perfectly but they also are comfortable, small, and have clear reception. I've purchased Motorola products before and they all worked great (so far at least).I live in an apartment where many other wireless devices are used by my neighbors and these phones held their ground just fine (not like a Microsoft wireless mouse/keyboard combo I recently bought). I also have an VoIP service (Voice over IP aka internet phone) with a company named Broadvoice (much better and cheaper than Vonage) and they work great. I really have no complaints at all with this product although some improvements could have been made (e.g. internal battery so it doesn't lose the time or 2 phone line support would have been nice, but I'm splitting hairs).

Unusable
By Mark B
I liked the MD671 for the home office so I thought the MD7161 would be a good upgrade for the home phone. Not so. The handsets intermittently cut out when the person on the other end is speaking. I tried all the troubleshooting recommendations with no change in the problem. If you cannot hear the entire conversation that sort of makes the phone unusable, right?
