Great for Skype and Google Chat!

This is a fantastic headset for use with Google Chat, Skype and other computer-based VOIP solutions. It is not a headset for your existing DECT wireless landline system, and it probably won't work with your smartphone either.DECT's range of hundreds of feet far exceeds that of Bluetooth (50 feet if you're lucky), making it an excellent headset for roaming around the house in comfort. Plus, it has an easy to find mute button that so many Bluetooth headsets lack. This headset is not the best way to listen to your music collection because it's mono, but of course, you can do that to, say, vacuum the house while listening to the free PC version of Spotify.This product is identical to the Jabra Pro 930 which means you can download the drivers from Jabra's website. You will not find the software on Logitech's site.

Evidently a 'best-kept secret'!

The BH940 has been manufactured by Logitech for about a year now, but there is hardly any information on it. Few reviews, few major sellers. This is likely because it's more in the B2B channel for Logitech. Regardless, this a great USB headset!Before I bought it, I didn't know what the difference was between this one (BH940-M) and the regular (BH940). But even after receiving it, I still don't see any difference. It seems to include/feature everything the non-suffixed version contains, but is selling for a few bucks cheaper. Indeed, it may just be a product naming error for all I know.Now, keep in mind I'll be updating this review once I've used more. I've only been using it for one full day (about 5 hours of use today).What I like:*The price. When I recently changed jobs to a company that uses Microsoft Lync for all their client meetings and internal communications, I knew I was going to need a better headset than my $10 wired Lenovo P550's used infrequently for gaming. I was eying the $230 Savi W710's, as I wanted a good product. I'm glad I went with the BH940 instead and saved my money. There are also some Jabra sets in the low $100's that couldn't be any better than this.*Clarity: I called a couple of our own phones (cell/desk) using Lync and I sound great! When asking other colleagues, they also agreed. The earpiece sound seems the same as my wired connection--just fine.*Comfort: Very comfortable. I prefer the over-the-head style more than behind-the-head as well as most in-ear types. It wasn't until about 90 minutes of wearing it that I even started to notice the pressure of the padded ear piece. The fact it took so long to notice is good in my opinion. I don't wear a headset if I'm not on a call, so I'm not wearing for hours on end. My head is larger than average, so I've since pulled/stretched the metal band a bit and it's more comfortable now.*Battery: So far, more than sufficient for a day. The 8+ hour product description seems very accurate.*Range: I have a smaller 2-story house. In my wanderings during the call, I never heard a single interruption. DECT works.*Other: Controls seem fine (volume up, down, mute). Again, this works great with Lync. No extra drivers needed on my Win7 machine. When muted, it does the 30-60 second (haven't measured it) double beep to indicate you're on mute.Cons: I wish the base station had a physical mute button. I also wish the mute button on the headset itself wasn't in-between the two volume buttons. I use mute frequently on calls, so this could have been more conveniently located (did I just sneeze while thinking I'm on mute, or did I just hit volume up?). Also, besides the additional time it takes to fish for the right button while on a call, I'm pretty sure the other people on the call can hear the brushing of your fingers on the headset until you find the mute button. Am I being too picky? Perhaps. But I'm a power user when it comes to muting/unmuting... and if it takes more than a half second to do so, it's too long. I'll probably develop a memory on its location fairly quick, and, to be fair, the mute button has a slight dip on it compared to the volume buttons.Bottom line, most websites are pricing this in the $140-$180 range. The fact that for some reason you can get it for $55-60 makes this an absolute bargain.

Needed a Lync headset

I have used 4 different ones before getting this one. Holds a charge, works on all three floors of my house, you can answer mute and change the volume from the headset. Great product.
