Really great for phone jockeys
By David Thatcher
These are the headsets we used at the Sony Tier 2 support line for VAIO computers. I loved them! The wireless works great even at a distance, and the sound quality is excellent. I never had a problem with volume. Between adjusting the volume on the headset and also on the phone itself I was always able to find a comfortable level. Highly recommended. My current employer is too cheap to buy these but I may spend my own money for one some day, it is worth it!

Really like this headset
By Maiken2051
I bought this headset so I could carry on phone conversations while working at my computer. My office sometimes has a fair amount of background noise, so I went with the noise-cancelling option. The headset has worked flawlessly since I bought it. It's comfortable even during extended conference calls and I've yet to have the battery run out during the course of a work day.Occasionally I've noticed an echo during the first second or two of a conversation, I think that may be the noise cancelling adjusting itself. Otherwise I've found the audio very clear both on my end and for the people I'm speaking to. Volume level has been fine.In case it's not obvious, the headset's base (which also functions as a charger) is connected between your phone's base and its receiver. As a result, the receiver has to be off the hook when you want to use the headset. Taking the headset off the base (or pushing a button on the headset) disconnects the receiver and connects the headset. You can buy a Remote Handset Lifter to automatically lift the receiver to answer calls.Note that if your phone has a dedicated headset jack you're unlikely to be able to use it with the GN9125. Netcom sells special cables that will allow direct connection with specific phone models but these seem mostly to be the specialized phones found in call centers, etc. Everybody else will need to install the headset's transmitter/charger between the phone's base and the receiver.

Great concept, lousy volume control
By HB
The distance was fantastic, the flexibility of hands-free is excellent, but the volume in the earpiece was incredibly annoying. I turned the volume down to the minimum, and it was still way too loud. When I talked, I could hear my voice amplified. The other end of the call could hear me fine, and I could hear the caller fine as well. However, I had my wife and son both try the headset, and they both couldn't tolerate the high volume either. Also, if you turn the '-' volume several times, then the device goes into mute, which stinks because I couldn't figure out how to get out of this mode until I killed the wireless connection and reconnected.
