Impressive - Great for Remote Lectures
By Charles R. Severance
I purchased this to allow remote presenters in my classroom and am very impressed with the product. First, I love the fact that this is a pure-USB microphone and speakers from the point of view of my laptop. I have a Macintosh and am forever frustrated by special drivers that other similar products have. This product needs no drivers. It is easy to configure and select in System Preferences. The echo cancellation is wonderful and I have also started using it instead of headphones when I in my office and listening to an interactive webinar. I can move around my office during the webinars instead of being always connected and frankly having a few more earphone-free hours is a plus as well.Back to my classroom application, my absolute favorite feature is the fact that there is an audio-out plug (headphone jack) on this item that allows the audio to be routed through the room audio speakers and using the built in microphones on the X1-N6 for the audience members to interact with the person talking. And the echo-cancellation works when I am using the room speakers. It makes it easy for everyone in the room to hear the speaker. When they say that the microphone pickup is about 15 feet, they are right - beyond 15 feet you have to speak pretty loud to be heard. I have some classrooms where I can cover most of the room by placing the microphone near the center - this requires a USB extension and audio extension. Without the extension, someone near the microphone needs to repeat questions from folks sitting 20 feet away or so.Please do not interpret the above comments in any way that is negative - the fact that this can fill a room with sound from a remote speaker and be completely interactive and echo-cancelled for audience members within a 15-foot radius is completely impressive for a device a little over $100 and that is a completely hardware solution (i.e. no drivers) for any system that supports USB audio drivers. I am demonstrating this to every AV person and home office worker I can find and I am sure they will buy a bunch of them.

Easy
By Claude
Unwrap, plug, wait for the computer to finish sniffing it, useIt just works great out of the box. The mic sensitivity seams to adjust by itself and picks up the whole conference room (25X12). The speaker is clean and clear. The price is at least 33% of what it is worth. Thank you.

Poor sound quality
By Jack Herrick
This product was essentially unusable. We bought this to do Skype conference calls. When using the conference phone, I could hear people through this speaker, but they heard a very distorted voice. Callers complained that I sounded "like a robot".
