Automates Soundpoint phones with Plantronics headsets

This product is not necessary for it to work. But it makes it a lot more hassle free.What it does is allows you to start and end calls without picking up the headset from the base unit. It plugs into a special port in the Soundpoint base unit, and plugs into the headset where the original connector that comes with it is.Now when I press the headset button it automatically gives me a dial tone. And when I'm on a call and click the headset button (either on the phone or on the headset), it hangs up. This also means that you can answer the phone now without being within reaching distance of the telephone.This will only work for specific phones, mostly Polycom, so you have to do your homework on the Polycom headset to find which one works with your work phone.What it doesn't do: doesn't change the sound quality, doesn't affect the USB side of the Plantronics headset, etc. Literally, just does that one thing.

It works perfectly with the Polycom IP330 phone, just make sure your set has the SIP 3.1 version of the software.
