I love these phones

I splurged on the Gigaset S820A along with four more handsets for my home phone. I am so glad I did. I love these phones!I love the touch screen features and easy-to-like color scheme using different colors for time, date, etc. The screen & dial are lit very well and it is easy to see in the dark. You can even rename each handset (name shows on color screen) since each can be customized for different users. The controls are very intuitive and easy to learn & understand.You can download pictures using the gigaset.com software program on your PC, plug in the phones and assign different pictures to your callers or screensaver. This S820 is more cell-phone like than any other landline I have ever had.15 years ago, I had a set of Gigaset 4200s for my house that lasted 8 years and never really wore out. This new Gigaset S820 is a huge improvement over those old ones because of all the advanced features, and easy to read screen. These may be the only Gigasets sold in the USA that have the ability to "blacklist" annoying callers.The S820 is so far ahead of other landlines available, just like the 4200 was way ahead of other phones a decade ago. The reviewer who complained about the date format must have skipped the brief set-up procedure that established that it was English/American because the date format is month/day/year on mine.
