Bad Equipment, worst customer service
By I. Mozie
My first ever review. Read before you buy. After following install instructions, equipment did not work as expected. Call forwards/transfer is epileptic. works sometimes and other times does not. Also subscribed to Forticall service to go with the equipment. Couldn't get this thing and the service to work right. Sales department answers in 60 seconds and will ask me to speak to support. First call to customer support, I was on hold for 26 mins and I hung up. Called and chose sales a second time, they picked in less than a min, then transfered me to support. second time took 43mins before I gave up and then again a third time by which time I had made up my mind to cancel service and return equipment. After being on hold for another 56 mins, I called back to sales from another phone while holding for support and I guess sales prompted them to finally have mercy on this guy and someone answered after about an hour 3mins oh hold. They referred me back to their website to get a support ticket number before I could be helped. In all it was a nightmare. Finally was able to cancel after a few back and forth email following the calls. Wonder why the email option is not available from the get go. Will not recommend this service or equipment to my enemy.

Good small business PBX
By RobR
I would recommend this product. There's a bit of a learning curve on setting it up though. I've also never had to call technical support so I can't comment on that.My unit has been installed and running for two months now. It's been pretty solid the whole time. It has never locked up or needed to be reset. I'm using the system in a small office with two analog phone lines, two sip VoIP accounts, a couple of analog phones, and a few IP phones. There's not a lot of documentation out there for setting up the unit to work with non-Fortinet devices. It took a lot of trial and error before all the features on my Cisco IP phones worked (setup with a Fortinet IP phone was a breeze). It does everything we need in a small office environment, including an auto-attendant and incoming ring groups. I'm not using some of the features like Fax detection, conference bridging, or automatic dial back so I don't know how those features work. What I do have configured seem to work as advertised though. Be sure to update the device's firmware right away. You have to register the device's serial number to get access to firmware updates. There are some features I would like to see improved on. There's no way in the front-end administration tool to see any line activity or call information. The workaround I use is by accessing the unit's built in webserver which outputs detailed call log information in CSV format. Anyone on the network can access the built in web server to see the call logs. There is also a limitation on what audio formats the unit will accept as hold music, auto-attendant greetings, and voicemail greetings. The same limitation exists when I set up the unit to automatically email voicemails. The unit basically can only input/output 8KHz U-Law Mono .WAV files. One frustrating thing is the fact that the administration tool is written entirely in Java which also requires administrative rights to run.Overall, I've had a great experience with this product. Like I said earlier though, I haven't had to call technical support.

Poor Documentation and Spam
By God
This is a fairly good product but lost 2 stars for these issues:> Documentation is obtuse as are many parts of the setup and both are hard to understand. I feel they do this on purpose to give FortiVoice vendors an lever to hammer you into buying support contracts to the tune of 100 DOLLARS+ plus PER YEAR. This might be tempting for the first year but the kicker is that unless you have a valid support contract in place, THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU ACCESS TO SOFTWARE/DRIVER UPGRADES! 100 dollars per year starts becoming serious money after a few years. Come on guys, your product is fairly good, the price is not cheap, but this policy is a usurious!> NEOBITS is looking more and more like a SPAMMER. I was reasonably satisfied with the product, but three nags (so far) for feedback? One nag is a vendor looking for feedback, that's OK. But two times, THREE times? That's really over the top. I'm now wondering to how many other spammers NEOBITS or perhaps Amazon has sold my email address?
