4Not perfect, but meets my needs
By DeekGeek
After I started working from home on a regular basis, I discovered the problem with cordless phones: battery life. When I drained the batteries dry in multiple handsets for the third day straight, I started looking for a desk phone. This phone isn't perfect, but it met my needs:1. Caller ID, including call waiting caller ID (CWCID).2. 2.5mm headset jack3. SpeakerphoneThe good:- The phone is nice and sturdy, with the desk / wall mounting bracket integrated into the base. Release the clips and flip it 180-degrees to convert it from desk to wall and back again. This means that when you choose to change the phone to another location down the road, you don't have to remember where you stashed the bracket.- Lots of memory dial buttons. The ten buttons down the right side hold two numbers each, there are three buttons next to the dial pad, and some of the feature buttons (like "message" or "call waiting off") can be reprogrammed and used as additional speed dial buttons if you want.- There are separate volume settings for the handset, headset, and speakerphone.- The display is large, brightly lit, and easy to read.- The headset button allows you to leave the headset plugged in all the time, while still allowing you to use the handset if you want. It also means you don't have to lift the handset to use the headset. There is also an "End Call" button to hang up directly if you are using the headset.- The mute button persists between handset, headset, and speakerphone. No need to switch and then re-mute.The bad:- The memory dial buttons only hold 20 digits each. For heavy conference call users like me, that isn't enough room to store the conference line, the pauses, and the conference number in a single button. Using one button for the conference line and another for the conference number works well enough, but if they had expanded the storage by just a couple more digits, that wouldn't have been necessary.- Keep the manual handy. There are some quirks, like the way you store numbers in the memory dial buttons, that aren't intuitive. If you don't do those things often you will have to look it up every time. Awkward, but only a deal breaker if you do those things frequently, but not frequently enough to memorize how.- The volume level isn't great, which is disappointing since I damaged my hearing slightly with all that loud rock music in high school and college. I have the volume maxed out, and I find myself still hitting "Volume +" sometimes. The headset volume is maxed out, too.- The dial keypad has buttons that are stiff and take some effort to push. Sure, that's one of those things that I'll get used to over time, so in another week or so I won't even notice. Until then, "Dang, these things are stiff."- The tactile bump on the "5" button is off-center and easy for me to miss. Okay, maybe that's a nit-pick, but I dial the phone a lot while I'm looking up the conference call information and so I touch-dial a lot. Again, I'm sure I'll get used to it over time. The ugly:- The speakerphone. It works great for listening on conferences, but is worthless if you want to speak. I have to lean over and put my mouth 6-8 inches from the microphone before those on the other end can hear me. This from a guy who's sometimes described as a "loud talker."- I haven't figured out exactly why or when, but sometimes the phone unmutes itself. Yikes! This could be huge with kids in the house making noise while the boss is on the phone. I suspect it has something to do with calls coming in on call waiting, but I'm still trying to isolate it. I've only noticed it on conference calls that last a really long time, so it's hard to notice and harder to isolate to whether it is time based or event based.Bottom line:A good, solid phone, but not fantastic. Should you buy it? That depends on how you plan to use it. For me, it's a solid performer and I won't replace it until it dies.

5Headset Jack!
By T Teel
This is the best phone I could find - with the headset jack. It even has a seperate button to answer using the head set. The other features are also well done. I am using with a Plantronics Headset and this works well. I did have to duck tape the handset - to get the handset lifter to work - but that was very easy to do.

4Affordable
By Christopher Konczak
This is a pretty cheaply manufactured phone, but it does what it promises. The 2.5mm jack is a great feature in a phone in this price range.
