3Had to return the phone - it wouldn't work with a DSL filter

I liked the telephone but I have to use a DSL filter on my telephone wall mount and this phone would not fit it. Specifically, the modular jack on the back of the phone is mounted in a sliding grove and the range of motion available is not sufficient to permit the phone to be mounted on the pins on the DSL filter I have from AT&T. (It does fit perfectly on the standard telephone mounting plate on the wall - just not on the DSL filter that I have attached to the original mounting plate.) My previous phone (an AT&T Model 100) worked because it had a short chord/wire with modular jacks on both ends to connect the phone to the wall mount. This connector was long enough to permit it to also be mounted to the DSL filter.In terms of the phone itself it appears to be well made and of good quality. When I tried it the sound quality from the hand set was very good, the touch tone buttons for dialing had a good feel and worked crisply. Things I didn't especially like were: (1) I thought the red light on the top of the phone would flash when someone had left a message on my voice mail - this was not the case. It only flashes when the phone is ringing - presumably to let one know that they have a call when the ringer is turned off. (the telephone is available without the "message" warning light - which is the way I would order it next time if I could use the phone with my DSL filter - the light is not necessary for most people and it detracts from the appearance of the phone (in my opinion); (2) when the hand set is hung on the cradle it does not hang straight down but, rather, stands off from the phone approximately and inch or an inch and a half at the bottom. I am not certain why, but this bothered me,however, it may not be an issue for others; (3) the switch on the cradle that the hand set depresses to turn off the phone when hung up is fairly stiff. I found that the hand set from my original AT&T phone was not heavy enough to depress this switch. (Of course this would only be a problem if one needs to replace the hand set for some reason and does not have a heavy enough replacement hand set.) In summary, this phone is okay - it just wouldn't work for my application. If it had fit on the DSL filter I would have kept the phone and put masking tape over the red light or found a way to remove it entirely.
