Was very pleased

This phone was exactly what I was looking for. Very basic but sturdy for a desk phone. The volume control is a dial in the handset and works fine. The phone has an actual bell ringer but I leave the ringer off. Hope this helps others on the details of the phone.

CORTELCO DESK PHONE WITH VOLUME CONTROL

I ordered this phone from AMAZON and recieved it very quickly!!!! This Is a great phone to replace our old Western Electric phone of the same type!!!!It looks and feels very similar to the origional phone. It is reliable and rugged and has clear tone and adjustable volume control for hearing impared and use in noisy areas. It is manufactured to the same specifications as the origional phones. It is assembled in the USA at CORINTH MISSISSIPPI. It is much more rugged than the chinese phones and has a very low failure rate. This is a very good value for the money. This is our second one and we have had no problems with either one . I highly recommend these phones if they fit in for your application. It is always recommended that you have a non-battery powered phone connected permanently in cae of emergency and power outages. These phones do not require any power from house electricity to operate.

when the next blackout hits i'll be prepared

A few weeks ago the power went out at night in our small town. It was only for about six or seven hours but having no phone service made it seem quite a bit longer. If I had a corded or landline phone in the home instead of just cordless handsets I could have spent part of that time talking to my kids or catching up with my sisters. The next day I spent a little time looking at listings and reviews for corded phones and this one caught my eye. Looked very much like one on my Dad's desk from when I was a teen. An easy choice...When it arrived it was much lighter weight than the one from my Dad's desk but not so much that it feels like a toy. It has a volume adjustment wheel on the handle which of course was not there when I was young but a welcome addition as it's easy to find. The bottom of the phone has a loudness-to-off switch for the ringer. The push button dialing on the face looks just how I remembered it. The whole thing works well and gives me a little nostalgia for former days.No word on longevity as this is just out of the box but if necessary I'll update this review accordingly.Pleased with this purchase and recommended.
