Keeps having to be reprogrammed

This unit keeps failing to do it's job in that after only 2 months, it needs to be reprogrammed. For instance just this week (again), the machine will "pick up" at the designated 5th ring, but it refuses to record the message afterward. I've had the unit for only 3 months and I'm about to reset/reprogram it again this very night due to failure described (for the 3rd time). Can't really say how many calls I've missed.

Ok but ringer not loud

Ok but ringer not loud --it is simple to set up bec everything is repeated as u set it up and the lcd screen is not lit so it just looks like the picture if you have problem with black on lcd and the ringer makes this short of perfect bec its a loud by normal standards ringer but the high pitch trill is not something that is esp easy for hard of hearing pple to hear, so we will have to get something that increases the ring volume. It has some nice features like ringer that identifies particular pple andbig buttons, etc but note the ringer issue andit can be made louder in handset but not crazy loud.

Dad had a Laryngectomy and this phone allows him to have hands free access to the phone, which is important. The phone also has large numbers which is good for his failing eyesight. The only problem is the display is too dim.
