5Outstanding DECT 6.0 BT compatible wireless phone system
By Robert D. Gordon
This outstanding DECT 6.0 AT&T product delivers the goods. Purchased it to replace a much older 2.4 mHz 2-line VTech cordless system with 6 handsets. The feature set is rich and the performance is excellent. Setup is easy but given the robust set of features it does take some patience to master it all. Handsets must be registered with base unit by placing them in the charging receptacle in the base unit, not the handset chargers, for about 90 seconds. All handsets can be deregistered using a button on the base station.Highlights:1) it is well built and looks nice2) buttons are large and easy to use3) screens are brightly lit and easy to read4) BT connectivity is excellent -- I use it with an iPhone and have been able to walk around 2 of the 3 floors of my house with the iPhone on my belt and not lose the connection (although I usually just leave the iPhone on my desk near the base when at home since Bluetooth connections are always tenetative beyond 30 feet. AT&T recommends staying within 15 feet).5) Directory and Caller ID log are totally integrated among base and all handsets. Robust contact directory that is exchanged among handsets. Base can transfer large telephone directory from paired cellphone and it will be accessible on all handsets. Can save numbers from Caller ID log and from redial lists to Directory. Awesome features!!6) has both PTT walkie-talkie and intercom modes for talking between handsets or handsets and base (group PTT calling will only work on the first 3 or 4 registered handsets if more than 5 hansets are registered, but any handset can make or receive a PTT call to an individual handset or the base and base can call any handset)7) full dial pad on base -- not available on previous similar AT&T models and what I was waiting for8) has full featured answering machine function if you need it, but since I have AT&T U-verse, I appreciate the voicemail waiting and missed call annunciators -- when there is a voice mail waiting on U-verse, the phone system lets me know.9) has HD audio -- sound quality is the best I have ever experienced in a cordless phone system10) can accomodate up to 12 handsets, all of which can be given custom names, but only 4 (plus base station) will have audio announced caller ID function if have more than 5 on system (but all have screen caller ID and log)11) date and time read from caller ID message signals to keep phones properly set12) will work with AT&T 7600 wireless headset. This model registers with the system as another handset and uses the DECT 6 bandwidth, not Bluetooth, to communicate so range is much better than a Bluetooth headset (but you can pair a Bluetooth headset to base unit if you wish to).12) available at very attractive pricing for base and for handsetsUses NiMH batteries, not lithium, but so far they have lasted a long time when handset is out of charger and replacement batteries are not overly expensive.Very highly recommend this product.

5Very impressive "connect to cell" cordless phone
By Desertdaddio
I compared the newest Panasonic and V-Tech to this unit and decided "hopefully" this one's for me. Set up was a breeze. Bluetooth paired to my Blackberry instantly. I actually said outloud, are you kidding me??? I like the functions of the base unit as well. I may be dropping my landline and using the bluetooth if it's consistant. This is my first day using it. Initial charge time on the batteries are 16 hours. I let it do its thing. Charge! Again, this is going to be great, because my customers have my cell phone number, not the land line number. Many of them call after work, so it will be nice to keep the cell plugged in and use the cordless. I would highly recommend this unit.

5Ranks up there with canned beer
By M. Holland
I've used a variety of answering machines over the years and all worked well. This machine replaced a Panasonic. My real reason for upgrading to this phone system was the integration with cell phones. We have a large house and I am invariably somewhere else when my cell phone rings forcing me to run around trying to find the cell phone. This phone system has totally eliminated that. I now have 6 extensions scattered around the house and I can pickup my cell phone from anywhere. I leave my cell phone on a charger in a nearby room and it automatically links to the base unit. Ditto for my wife's phone. What this has also allowed is for my wife to be able to use the base unit to call out on her cell phone freeing up a second phone line that was dedicated to her business calls. All the advantages of the base unit's features on the cell phone line. Another very useful feature is the push to talk feature. Beyond that, it offers virtually every feature that you can think of. You really do have to read the manual to understand the system's possibilities. The only negative that I can think of is the inability to plug in a headset on a handset. But I would checkout the AT&T 7600 wireless headset as an alternative. The one other problem is when you upload your cell phone's contacts list. It picks up all numbers associated with a contact. Problem is that when you look up that contact on the handsets, it does not easily distinguish as to whether the number is the home, business or cell number. You can so identify the numbers after the fact but that entails a lot of work. The identity of the phone number is actually with the name of the person but with long names you cannot see wether it's a home, business or mobile number. But I cannot figure out how to get to see the whole name displayed. I should also mention that the verbal identity of the caller ID is nifty.
