5An Excellent Product
By John Seidel
I bought this product as part of a plan to drop my land line phone service. I've had it about 4 days.Setup was easy. Connecting to the cell phone was a matter of pressing the blue tooth button on the AT&T phone, and then telling my cell phone to look for the AT&T phone. This is different than just making the cell phone "visible".The cell phone has remained connected to the AT&T phone. It disconnects when I leave the house, and automatically reconnects when I return. My cell phone sits about 2 feet from the AT&T. On several calls the sound quality has been excellent. I have not had any complaints from people I have called (so far).Making a cell phone call is just like making a land line call. You just enter the number, or select a number from the internal phone book, and press the "celluar" button. You hear a couple of beeps, the handset connects with the cell phone, and the call is dialed.I can now answer and make calls on my cell phone on any of 4 extension phones in my house without having to carry or located my cell phone all the time. The AT&T comes with a base station and one extension. I've purchased 2 additional extensions. The next steps are to add a dedicated cell phone line to my celluar account ($10 a month), transfer my home phone number to the cell phone, connect that cell phone with the AT&T, and then drop my land line service and save $64 a month.==============================Update 7 weeks later.I've dropped the land line and have a dedicated cell phone, with the old phone number on it, connected to the AT&T. The transfer of the old number to the cell phone took longer than I expected, but was smooth and transparent. The system works perfectly. Sound quality is excellent. Speaker phone is excellent. No complaints from anyone on the other end. I have my cell phone, my wife has her cell phone, and we still have a convenient, easy to use, house phone.

3One big flaw
By Tom
I have purchased two of these now, the second one to make sure it was not a problem with the first unit. The problem is that when a call comes in on the cell phone, the answering machine fails to pick up in the number of rings set(2, 4, 6, or toll). However, from a land line it does pickup, but I was dropping my land line, so the answering machine is basically useless. My cell phone picks up after 8 rings, so the cell phone is not at fault here. The User's Guide specifically spells out how to set this up for cell phone voicemail pickup to be longer than the answering machine pick up but it does not work. Otherwise, all the other features work really well. I am now going to look for another vendor as the bluetooth feature is really nice.Update:I emailed AT&T and they responded that the answering machine is for LAND LINE only. The discussion in the User's Guide on voicemail and the answering machine is when you have a LAND LINE and also have voicemail on the LAND LINE. For the cell phone, it assumes you have normal voicemail. It would be nice to also support the answering machine on the cell side as then you could listen as the answering machine takes the call while at home and get normal voicemail when away from home. Otherwise, it works like a charm.Update2:Had to return the unit as the caller ID feature on the handset started failing. It would display 9 with random numbers. If I re-cycled the power it would fix it, but this was a pain as I had to do this every couple of days.

5Great phone
By holson
Phone works as advertised. Seamlessly integrates with my V3, even after switching to the blue tooth in the car, never have to find the connection.Sound quality using bluetooth is good, not quite landland but acceptable. Has longer range then my older ATT 5.8 Mhz, at least 250 feet. Can accept both a call from the landline and the cell, using hold which is good. Manages the directory from the base unit, so all phones share a common directory, very nice. Another great feature, if you go out of range, and move back in, it doesn't require you to place the unit back in the base to reconnect, it just sees it and you are connected. What could be better, being able to use more then one cell phone for connection, being able to check messages from the cordless phone itself and a change to lithium batteries rather then NMH.
