4Good Quality Phones at a Good Price
By An Avid Reader
With no reviews to be found on this new phone system out from AT&T I was hesitant to purchase. I must say I am very pleased at the quality of these units so far and the answering machine that accompanies it. The units are well lit with the pleasant blue backlit numbers. The speaker phones on these units are quite excellent with plenty of volume. The answering machine is very intuitive and easy to use with a nice large number of messages waiting display. While this is a very nice set of phones, there are some desirable features that are missing. There is no battery backup for this unit so if you lose power you will have to reset the time. There is no speed dial, however, you can store names from the CID to a directory and dial them from there. Also, there is no visual battery level indicator so you only get notified with tones when the battery is low. My previous phones had that so I knew when to put them back on the base. Some individuals have complained they don't hear my voice very well when I have a headset plugged in. That may be due to the quality of my headset. I hear them loud and clear so that part is fine. In all I would rate this phone a very good buy as long as they hold up. So far I've had them a little over a week and I'm completely satisfied with them.

5Best phone I've ever owned!
By sc173
I've had cordless phones by GE(DECT 6.0), Panasonic(900MHz & 2.4GHz), Uniden(900MHz), & VTec(2.4GHz) and so far the 5.8GHz AT&T TL72308 are the best phones I've ever had. Those other phones suffered from different problems such as limited range(static), short battery life, interference from my microwave, an intermittently working answering machine, and a few of them were just too big and bulky for my liking. This was the first time I've ever bought AT&T phones and so far I love them. There is absolutely no interference from my microwave or wireless router or anything else. The physical range and battery life are also very good. The keys are back lit with a nice light blue color. The phones are fairly small and light weight with no external antenna poking out the top.I paid $66 and got 3 phones and an answering machine. You really can't beat that price for the quality as of Feb 2009.The only somewhat negative comment I can make about these phones are that they don't use lithium ion batteries, they use NiMH. I didn't actually see any phones in the stores that claimed to use lithium ions...just something to keep in mind.ANTOnline had the best price that I could find and they shipped it the same day. They also send out prompt emails. I would definitely buy from them again.

2I expected more from this phone set!
By K. Schmidt
We purchased this set 2.5 years ago. We hoped we'd get more than a couple years out of it. The volume level seemed a bit strange, and often it was difficult to hear the caller on long-distance calls. The batteries worked well for several months, and then started losing their charge pretty quickly. By 2 years and 2 months, we were getting very little charge on the set. We struggled with it for several months, and then finally gave up and bought a different set.Negatives (besides the battery issues): Buttons aren't as easy to push as some cordless phones. We had trouble listening to phone messages without having to listen to all the previously-recorded messages (it wouldn't skip past the old ones). It would have been much better to have an icon on the screen that showed how much charge the battery had left in it (this is a very important feature to have!). The phones do not seat easily in the bases; our newer AT&T phones that we just bought seat much more easily. We haven't used Caller ID (it's not available in our area) so can't comment on that. We have not tried the Call Waiting feature, nor used the phones with a headset. The set did seem to have good range ability, however. And the mute feature worked well. We did not try the CID or DIR features.Something else that I REALLY missed that our previous cordless phones had was the ability to have the phone answer the call automatically when the phone rang and was removed from the base. With this set, you have to take the phone out of the base, and then press the On button to turn the phone on to answer the call. Bummer.HOWEVER, the set is still much better than the huge cordless we were given for a wedding present 21 years ago with almost no range whatsoever!!!
