Good system until it died suddenly

We moved into a larger house and needed a bigger phone system. The five handsets in this set are great and I got a good deal. The only annoying thing was the answering system. There was no pause between one message and the next to give you time to press delete. By the time I realized a message was done playing, it was on to the next one and I would have to go back to erase it. Not critical, just annoying. Also, there was no way to erase all old messages at once. You must listen to them to erase them. Now why is this review written in past tense? Because the system base just died on me, all of a sudden, just out of the warranty period. And because the system is not "expandable" I cannot just buy another base. I have to replace the whole system. I can tell you I won't be replacing it with another ATT system.

awesome phone system

replaced a 6 year old set where the batteries just gave up (also phones were pretty abused so not worth just replacing batteries) - this set does everything it promises and a few pleasant add-on surprises (read instructions and installation guide) - love it at a great price!
