Great Product

I had just went to BJ's and bought a cheap cordless combo package, I forgot the name brand (not AT&T) with a base and 3 cordless handsets for something very cheap, like $50. I immediately brought it back the next day, not happy with the quality (noisy, other end complained about the quality, didn't work well as I moved onto the deck outside,etc). I said to myself "my first cordless phone from Radio Shack was about 20 years ago, and it was SO GOOD (cost $200 though when cordless phones were just coming out) and it was perfect. It was also ANALOG technology! I mean I could never find the limit of going out of range. So one day I got in the car talking on that Radio Shack cordless, and drove down Route 1. I kept talking, and literally got almost a MILE down the main road (2 mins driving) before I lost the signal. Now all that was to preface this review. They keep coming out with new technologies for cordess (analog, digital, 900mHZ, 1.2gHZ, 2.4gHZ, DECT). I bought several cordless phones since my old Radio Shack Analog died, and NONE were as good, or had the range, even though EACH technology boasted "longer range". I ended up concluding that you get (primarily) what you pay for, regardless of the buzzwords on the box. So when my 2.4 gHZ died, I shopped again and found the new "DECT" technology. But I made one decision: I would NOT buy a cheap model. I found this AT&T DECT 6.0 for $99 with second cordless base. FINALLY a phone that performs! I am so glad I opted for this model over cheaper DECT models. First, the range really is great. Sounds perfectly clear with zero hiss, humm, or interference, anywhere upstairs, in the basement, and out in the yard. I did not do the test to drive down the road, but the last few cordless phones would be humming and hissing all around the house and outside, so this was a nice surprise. Next, I've had this phone now for about 3 years, and I've NEVER heard a humm, hiss, crackle, or interference noise ever. And for quality, the sound is really good. I used he answering machine piece for 2 years, and it's real easy and intuitive to use, works great. I didn't even know it had BlueTooth, but this ended up being a LIFE SAVER! When we moved to a remote wooded area, our Cell phones (which we were using now MORE than our land line) had such poor reception at our home, that we MUST stand in the kitchen, or outside on the deck, to talk. Absolutely cannot talk in the basement (which is finished and we spend a lot of time there). I was looking at cell phone repeater units ($200) for the home. But with ths phone's Bluetooth, the cell phone stays in the kitchen (where cell reception is good) near the base, and we can answer (or make calls) from either the upstairs or basement AT&T cordless via bluetooth to answer/dial our cell phone calls, and then can WALK around the entire house, outside, and all over the basement with perfect clarity! I recommend this solution for anyone with poor cell phone coverage in their home. Since I have told this to others, I have had friends to out and buy TWO of these units (his and hers) so they too can use cordless phones in their house and anywhere on their property, for each of their cell phones that had poor quality! I've had this phone for 3 years and absolutely love it, never had a problem. It's time to buy new batteries, since they don't hold a charge for talk time as long as they used to, but would recommend THIS model to anyone, and warn of the caveats of buying the cheaper models, even if they are DECT technology. Now that cell phones have become our primary in our house, I only wish this one could support 2 cell phones being paired at the same time via bluetooth (mine and my spouses) so either of us could answer our cell phones from the basement cordless, instead of picking who's phone will be paired for the week, but I haven't looked and not sure any cordless phone yet allows > 1 phone to be paired at the same time. But I highly recommend this model!

Again, please (at least) read the description before reviewing

As the previous reviewer noted, it is unfair for the first reviewer to rate this product 2-stars because it didn't allow a BT Headset to pair with it when that is clearly not in the description.From indications and reviews elsewhere, this set of phone DOES do what it claims to do in the description.Please realize that if you are the only reviewer and you rate a product 2 stars, then people will think it is a bad product before even coming to the page and reading your review.And 2-stars for a fully working product whose only fault is that it doesn't have a feature you wish it had but had no indication from the specs that it would, is ridiculous and way too negative, in my humble opinion, even if your comment is otherwise helpful and useful. That's like rating a stand-alone freezer 2-stars because it doesn't also have a fridge; nice that you wish it did have one and it's good to know (though obvious), but it's not a 2-star item if it's only a freezer, especially if it's advertised as a freezer and not a fridge/freezer.

Great Product

I purchased this item because I was always looking for my cell phone when it was ringing and always missed the calls. This phone is great because I can link my cell phone with blue tooth and when it rings I can answer it with my new home phone. If this phone didn't have any other features I would still buy it just for the blue tooth feature. My cell can be left in my purse or on the night stand even in my car outside, it still works, Great buy.
