Picture not a Vtech product

I'm looking at the photograph of this answering machine and I see that it is not a Vtech answering machine but an ATT & T answering machine.

Not VTech but AT&T -- works well, though

The _AT&T_ answering machine arrived in fine shape two whole days before the promised delivery date. The packaging was up to Amazon's usual high standard: a large carton with lots of plastic "balloon" packing. I don't see how anything could get damaged, short of being run over by a truck.Installation was simple: I merely replaced a previously-installed machine which gave up the ghost after a recent thunderstorm and close-by lightning strike. It took me about three minutes to have the new machine up and running. Even had I not the prior experience, the documentation is written in clear, understandable English, not "Japlish" as is too ofter the case. (I do wish that documentation could be supplied in a format other than one single folded and unwieldy sheet. That's a minor quibble.)Setting the machine's clock, and other settings, e.g., the number of rings before it picks up, occupied all of ten minutes. It took that long for me to fiddle around and modify several settings. I opted for the supplied default in most cases, as I really don't require a customized installation.Having received several incoming calls, I can now say that the _AT&T_ model 1739 works quite well, indeed. It appears to satisfy all my requirements for a very reasonable price.(Oh, yes: I did inform Amazon that their catalog picture and description don't match. They say they'll get back to me, but truthfully, I'm not holding my breath.)UPDATE: Amazon has indeed changed the description on their catalog page, so that the text and the picture agree. The change was made on September 20, 2013, and I have been unforgivably remiss for not acknowledging it. (BTW the answering machine still works like a charm!)Ben Hartley

Communications with the outside, yea

I needed desperately an answering maching for my tech phone system. I pay enough for my cell phone to ATTand Verizon for my home phone system...so if I pay for their answering system it is anothe $10 a month or so for message receiving. So, I went right to Amazon, and typed in Answering system and up camethe VTech cmmunications In Cord Dgti Answering system..I ordered it right away, simply plug it in and there you go, $10 a month saved and it will pay for itself in two or three months...thank you Amazon you are great.
