Nice Home Office Phone
By Jennifer Juday
This phone is working very well as my home office phone, and it is getting a lot of use. After trying a really cheap phone and being unhappy with it, I spent a little more for this and have been very pleased.- It has more space than I'll ever need for programmable numbers (32) (though the sequence needed to record a new number is not particularly intuitive/memorable).- It saves programmed numbers when the power goes off. (It saved all my numbers for several days during a move.)- It has an Auto Redial button, also a nice timesaver.- The Mute button works well.- It has Speaker, Handset & Headset options, which you can switch between at any time.- It allows you to adjust the volume of what you are listening to (with enough range to work well for me).- Handset has a nice heft, fits the ear reasonably well, and decent sound.- Keyboard feels reasonably nice and has stood up to a year of use. .- Speakerphone has good pickup from two feet away.
I have found only a few disadvantages. The phone beeps when you switch modes (to speaker, for example) and when you adjust the volume. You need learn to use mute *beforehand* if you don't want to create a distraction during a conference call. Also, I have tried a couple of different headsets with this phone, and consistently hear that my volume is too low when I have set it as high as possible, which makes me wonder if there is a phone issue with that.
I don't use two lines, but it also has the capacity for two lines, with hold and conference buttons.
